DARLINGTON - Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch at 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 23 on Wisconsin 11 in Shullsburg Township. The vehicle was found unoccupied. Reported indicate that the vehicle was traveling westbound when the operator lost control, crossed into the opposite lane and hit a guardrail end. The vehicle then traveled into the ditch. The driver fled the scene. The owner and driver, Timothy L. Demmer, 28, Platteville, was later located, wondering around in the area. He was transported by Shullsburg ambulance to Lafayette County Memorial Hospital for injuries received in the crash. The vehicle Demmer was driving received moderate damage and was later towed from the scene. Demmer was arrested for driving while intoxicated, failing to have control, hit and run of property that is adjacent to the highway and having open intoxicants in the vehicle. Demmer was later released. Darlington Police assisted with the accident investigation.

• No injuries were reported during a vehicle vs. deer accident at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 on Wis. 81 in Darlington Township. Monique M. Volkening, 43, Darlington, reported hitting a deer. Her vehicle had moderate damage.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - No injuries were reported during a vehicle accident at 7:33 a.m. Tuesday, April 23 on Greenbush Road, west of County S, in the Township of Sylvester. Todd H. Kennedy, 51, Albany, was traveling west on Greenbush Road when he sideswiped the guardrail. His vehicle had moderate right-side damage and was towed from the scene.

• Green County Sheriff Deputies and the Argyle Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 in the N6700 block of County A in Adams Township. Cody G. Stamm, 28, Argyle, was driving westbound on County A when he saw smoke coming from the engine compartment. The fire caused severe vehicle damage and was towed from the scene.

• No injuries were reported during a vehicle vs. deer accident at 8:19 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 in the N4000 block of County N in the Town of Monroe. Brian S. Bieri, 38, Darlington, was northbound on County N, when he hit a deer. The vehicle had moderate damage and it was driven from the scene.
