MONROE - Three children sustained minor injuries after a school bus driver hit a vehicle Monday morning, Jan. 9, at an intersection south of Juda, according to the Green County Sheriff's Department.

Robert J. Finley, 68, Monroe, was reportedly turning a 2004 Freightliner bus south onto Twin Grove Road from County K when he struck a vehicle driven by Stephanie A. Badertscher, 26, Rock City, Ill. Badertscher had been waiting at the stop sign on Twin Grove Road, heading north, when the accident occurred.

Three of the 10 students on Finley's bus were seen by a school nurse for bumps on their heads. The ages of the 10 children range from elementary to high school.

The bus and Badertscher's vehicle sustained minor to moderate damage and were driven from the scene.

Deputies are still collecting testimony from witnesses to determine if charges will be filed.
