Thomas R. Hefty, 76, of Beloit passed away peacefully at Alden-Park Strathmoor Facility in Rockford, Ill. He was born September 11, 1938 in Monroe, WI, the son of Conrad and Margaret (Patterson) Hefty.
Tom went to school in Monroe, WI and after served in the Army National Guard. Thomas was united in holy matrimony to Donna Warne on April 21, 1961 in Iowa and shared approximately 40 years of marriage. Together they had one son, Timothy Allen Warne. Thomas worked at Chrysler, Northern Concrete in South Beloit as a security guard and was a handyman doing many odd jobs. He enjoyed many things such as fishing, hunting, tinkering in the garage working on cars and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Thomas is survived by his son Timothy of Janesville; sisters Dorothy (Clifford) Brown of Hot Springs, AR, Shirley Hefty of Brodhead, Patricia Mader of Gratiot and brother William Hefty of Brodhead. He also leaves behind brother and sister in-laws MaryKay Hefty, Patricia A (Warne) Simpson, Gaylon M. Warne, Dennis A. (Judy) Warne, Emmaline "Sue" (Scott) Johnson, Rhonda K. Warne, Janet E. Warne, Michael J. Warne, Penny C. Warne, James L. Warne and a special brother in-law Kenneth J. Warne, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers James (Roger) and Kenneth Hefty, sister Margaret (Jesse) Bahler and nephews Michael Bahler and Charles (Chuck) Brown.
A Memorial Service for Thomas will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer Funeral Home and Crematory beginning at 11:00 a.m. The visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
