Thomas C. Lelle, age 66 of Monroe, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 6, 2014 surrounded by his family. Tom was born July 26, 1948 in Freeport, the son of Clark John and Ellen Janette (McCauley) Lelle. He graduated from South Wayne High School in 1966. Tom served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1969 until 1971. While serving he was appointed to the U.S. Army Prix LeClerc military competition which was a highly selected group from the 8th Infantry Division. Following his honorable discharge, Tom attained a cheesemaker and butter license. He was employed for 33 years at Moore Business Forms in Monroe before retiring in 2010. He enjoyed driving a school bus route and transporting athletes for Lamers Bus Lines during his retirement. He married Deb Holland on April 8, 2006 in Monroe. Tom enjoyed participating and watching all types of sports and loved spending time hunting, fishing, and boating. He was a huge Green Bay Packer fan and even owned a share of the team. He was an adoring husband, loving father and step-father, and a proud grandfather. Tom had so many lasting friendships, knew someone everywhere he went, and above all nothing was more important to him than family.

He is survived by his wife, Deb "Taco" Lelle of Monroe; a daughter, Angie (Tony) Wiemiller of Evansville; step-children, Ben Voss of Monroe and Katie Voss of Evansville; a granddaughter, Madden Wiemiller; his father, Clark Lelle of South Wayne; brothers, John (Pam) Lelle of Kansas, Larry (Cali) Lelle of Arlington Heights, IL, Mike (Teri) Torrisi of Orangeville, and Mark (Diane) Lelle of Michigan; two sisters, Ellen (Jim) Burmeister of Gratiot, Mary (Asia) Lelle of Fitchburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and a grandson, Emmett Thomas Wiemiller.

A visitation for Tom will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday from 3:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Old Smokey Tavern, Monroe. Please wear your Packer attire as a tribute to Tom. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in his name.
