MONROE - One of the suspects arrested in a recent drug raid was found guilty of a related misdemeanor charge Monday.
Vicki L. Carlson was found guilty Monday of possessing drug paraphernalia, an unclassified forfeiture, stemming from the April 20 incident.
Carlson, 43, Monroe, was not present for her preliminary appearance on Monday, resulting in a default judgment. She is ordered to pay $389.50.
Carlson appeared in court later that day for her initial appearance in an unrelated case. Carlson was arrested for burglary, a class F felony, and theft, a class A misdemeanor, stemming from an April 22 incident. A signature bond was set for $2,500 in that case, with conditions including that Carlson may not possess or consume any controlled substances unless prescribed by a physician, have no contact with a residence in the 1700 block of 11th Street, and no unsupervised contact with her children.
A preliminary hearing is set for May 31.
Another defendant arrested in the same police raid, Norman Jay Wells, 44, of Monroe, is set for arraignment June 1 before Circuit Court Judge James R. Beer.
Wells is charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, a class F felony; possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, a class F felony; a second offense of possession of THC, a class I felony; maintaining a drug trafficking place, a class I felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor.
The arrests were a joint effort of Monroe police and the State Line Area Narcotics Team, which were targeting sales of cocaine and heroin in the city.
