NEW GLARUS - Susan Kay Foster, age 58 of New Glarus, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on January 22, 1951 in Monroe to her parents, Cleo and Phyllis Foster. Susie was an ambassador of New Glarus and very active in the Polkafest, New Glarus Chamber of Commerce, Sugar River Trail, president of the Tuesday night Pool League. She was president of the New Glarus American Legion Auxiliary and past-president of the Green County American Legion Auxiliary. Susie was also a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ and served as the contact person for the Ladies Aid.

Susan is survived by: her mother, Phyllis Foster of New Glarus; two brothers, Wynn (Kim) Foster and Kurt (Jean) Foster, both of New Glarus; five sisters, Pamela Venden of Monticello, Jolene (Mike) McKenna of Freeport, IL, Joan (Rory) Foster of New Glarus, Judy (Mitch) Schmid of Albany, and Tara Foster of New Glarus; a special friend, Sandy Hershberger, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cleo Foster; a nephew, Wesley Foster; and a great nephew, Xavier Barreau.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Swiss United Church of Christ, 18 5th Ave., New Glarus, WI with Pastor Petra Streiff officiating with burial in the Swiss Church Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 6th Ave., New Glarus, WI.
