Shirley M. Nack, age 81 of Monroe, died Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the New Glarus Home following a short illness. Shirley was born May 26, 1927 in McGregor, Iowa, the daughter of Milo and Marie (Arduser) Fuller. She graduated from LaCrosse Logan High School and later married Leo W. Nack on February 7, 1948 in LaCrosse. The couple moved to Monroe in 1958. Shirley worked as a legal secretary for the Kittlesen Law Firm for over 40 years before retiring in 2007.

She was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church, Monroe Woman's Club, Jaycees, Quester's Club, and two dance clubs. She loved the game of golf and was a long time member of the Monroe Country Club.

Shirley is survived by her son, Larry Nack of Oregon, WI; three grandchildren, Collin, Larissa, and Sean Nack; and a sister, Doris (Ed) Mackesey of Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo, on July 16, 2005; a daughter, Paula Nack-Wadlund on November 25, 2002; and a sister, Charlotte McFarland.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at the Monroe United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Booth officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Shirley's name. The NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, is assisting the family.
