Shirley E Weaver, age 80, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Friday, February 6, 2009 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

She was born September 8, 1928 in Monroe, WI, to the late Orville R. and Amy C. Evans. She enjoyed quilting, needlework, gardening, and was an avid reader. She worked at the family business, Evans Publishing Company in Wisconsin. Shirley graduated from Monroe High School in 1945. She attended Brown's College of Commerce in Freeport, IL, attended the University of Wisconsin for two years, and then BGSU Firelands. She worked 10 years for New Departure, General Motors in Sandusky. In 1965, she began working at the Huron County Department of Human Services, where she retired in 1991. She spent many hours in volunteer work for the Firelands Habitat for Humanity. She was a member of the Crystal Cathedral Church and the Monroe, Wisconsin Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Glen E. Weaver; her daughters, Jeanette (Risner) Ogle of Double Springs, AL, and Joyce Carver of Norwalk; her stepdaughters, Janet Postell of Attica, and Shari K. Connors of Bellevue; sons, Travis Risner of Westerville, OH, and Paul Risner of Bellevue; stepsons, Terry, William, and Patrick of Florida; sister, Jacqueline S. Barr of Tucson, AZ, and brother, Charles F. Evans of Greenville, IN; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; and 6 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 20 years, A.C. Risner in 1984; her parents; and her brother, Orville R. Evans, Jr. in 2004.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Reverend Roger E. Smith of the First United Methodist Church presiding. Burial followed at Meadow Green Memorial Park in Huron.
