MONROE - Starting Monday, Green County Sheriff's Department deputies increased patrols to enforce traffic rules, particularly driving under the influence.
The sheriff's department received a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to increase patrolling, according to Green County Chief Deputy Jeff Skatrud.
The patrols are designed to prevent injuries and fatalities in alcohol-related crashes.
The increase in patrols will end Sept. 6.
