Ruth Mae Breisath

Ruth Mae Breisath, age 92 of Monroe, died Friday, February 6, 2015 at Rachel's Choice in Monroe. Ruth was born on October 24, 1922 in Moscow Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Maurice and Mabel (Gilbertson) Ulsrud. She graduated from Argyle High School and married Howard Breisath on June 5, 1954 at the Argyle Lutheran Church. After moving to Monroe in 1955, Ruth worked for many years as a playground supervisor and crossing guard at East School. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed playing Euchre, taking trips with her family and with the Monroe Senior Center, and was an excellent cook and baker. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by four children, Janice Breisath of Oregon, WI, Gloria Baertschi of Argyle, WI, Bruce (Martha) Breisath, and Joan Wolfe, both of Monroe; five grandchildren, William Breisath, Nathan (Kim) Breisath, Amanda (James) Trumble, David Baertschi, and Michael Wolfe; two great granddaughters; and two sisters, Florinda Wittwer of Monticello, and Mavis (Denzil) McCombs of Elma, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Sept. 5, 1986; a sister, Dorothy Besand; a brother, Kenneth Ulsrud; and a special son-in-law, Keith Baertschi.

A Women of the Moose Chapter #599 memorial will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at Grace Lutheran Church, Monroe, with Rev. John Tabaka officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in Ruth's name. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
