Russell R. Grinnell, age 76 of Monroe, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Monroe Manor. Russell was born October 22, 1933 in Monroe, the son of Albert and Cora (McCool) Grinnell. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1952. Russ married Marion Burington in 1960 and she preceded him in death in 1974.

He married Violet Burington in 1976 and she died in 1989.

He worked at Oaktron for 25 years and thoroughly enjoyed his most recent employment at Greenco Industries. He attended Monroe United Methodist Church.

Russ loved sports especially wrestling, and enjoyed puzzles, trains, and old time music.

He is survived by a sister, Jackie Kirichkow; a brother, Nathan Gene (Sandy) Grinnell; a very close friend, Lisa Haring, all of Monroe; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Lloyd, William, and Lester Grinnell.

A private memorial services will be held at a later date with burial in Bethel Hawthorne Cemetery, Clarno Township. A memorial fund will be established in Russell's name.
