Mr. Russell James Richards, 73, of Albany, died on Sunday, June 28, 2009, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on December 24, 1935, in Arena, Wisconsin, to Harvey and Mary (Johnson) Richards. He graduated from Arena High School, Class of 1953. On June 23, 1956, he was joined in marriage to Miss Lorraine Boss in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin.

Mr. Richards worked as a farmer, drove a semi truck and made butter at Roy's Dairy in Monroe.

He greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. He played baseball. Very often he would take his grandchildren camping.

Mr. Richards is survived by his wife, Lorraine, Albany; their children, Ronald Richards of Albany, Lisa (Ed) Hopkins of Virginia, LeRoy (Mary) Richards of Brodhead, Laverne (Laura Dalton) Richards of Monroe; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one sister, Anna Sheldon of Mazomanie, Wisconsin.

Mr. Richards was preceded in death by one son, Thomas, one granddaughter, Kimberly, and four sisters.

The memorial service for Mr. Russell Richards will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, at the Sharer-Bifulk Funeral Home, Albany. Pastor Pat Soddy will officiate. Friends may call on Monday July 6, 2009 from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Sharer-Bifulk Funeral Home is very honored to serve the Richards family.
