Rosalie Gay Robb, age 73, of rural Winslow, Illinois, died Monday, November 17, 2008 at her home. She was born on December 31, 1934 in Braxton County, West Virginia, the daughter of James Artho and Lena "Juanita" (Jackson) Norman and attended Stillwell School in Wood County, W.V.
Rosalie married the love of her life, Robert R. Robb I on April 2, 1966 in Maquoketa, Iowa. Rosalie was an Avon Sales Representative for over 20 years, worked for many years at the Swiss Colony in Monroe, WI, Structo Manufacturing in Freeport, IL, was co-manager at St. Vincent de Paul in Monroe, WI, was a nanny, housekeeper, and a caregiver to many friends and family members. She was a member of Grace Free Methodist Church at McConnell, IL and Richland Free Church in Red Oak, IL, a Monroe Clinic Hospital Volunteer, and American Red Cross blood donor.
Rosalie loved the Lord, loved to sing, sang to her grandchildren, often gave grandkids piggy back rides, she loved to just spend time with grandkids, was a wonderful cook, everything she ate, good or bad, was "out of this world". She never met a stranger and showed everyone unconditional love.
Survivors are her husband, Robert R. Robb I of Winslow, IL; son, Robert R. (Stephanie) Robb II of Winslow, IL; daughters, Louvin "Windy" (Brian) Cross-Goodman of Muscada, WI, Belinda (Kevin) Cross-Pratt of Monticello, WI, Peggy (Bradley) Leverton of McConnell, IL, Amy Robb of Winslow, IL, and Jacqueline (Ryan) Wild of Monroe, WI; sisters, Dolleta (Delbert) Norman-Bennett of Aimsville, OH and Wilda (Kenneth) Norman-Bungard of Davisville, WY; 17 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Juanita Norman and daughter, Cassandra Kay Cross-Prinkey.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2008 at Grace Free Methodist Church in McConnell, IL. Officiating will be Rev. Lyle Babcock. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Damascus Road at Winslow, IL.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe, WI.
A memorial fund is being established for Monroe Clinic Hospice in Rosalie's memory.
