Juda/Brodhead - Rodney R. Ehlert, age 76, of Juda, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Manor, Footville, WI. He was born on August 18, 1934 in Avon Township, Rock County, WI, the son of Roy D. and Florence (Zimmerman) Ehlert. His first marriage was to Ida Lou Stair. He married Anna Blaser on June 25, 1971 in Brodhead. She passed away on June 7, 2006.
Rodney had farmed many locations in and around the Brodhead area. In 1971, he moved to Spring Grove Township where he continued farming. He loved living in the country, taking drives with his sister Betty, and NASCAR racing.
He is survived by his daughter, Beth (Howard) Austin, Janesville, stepchildren, Linda (Robert) Buehl, Bluffton, IN, Lynette (Leo) Martin, Monroe, WI, Lonnie (Karen) Coplien, Janesville, WI, Donald (Angela) Coplien, Florida, a sister, Betty Yaun, Brodhead, and his faithful dog, Tyson. He was preceded in death by his wives, a stepson, Larry Coplien, and a brother-in-law, Jack Yaun.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead.
