Robert L. French, age 68 of Baraboo, passed away under the excellent care of Home Health Hospice on Monday, June 28, 2010 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born September 6, 1941 in Monroe, WI the son of Leonard and Ruth (Wells) French. He was married to Elaine Leppert on February 27, 1965. This marriage was blessed with six wonderful children and they were blessed with 45 years together. Robert worked for Deppe Enterprises and Deppe Transit for 30 years. He had a passion for pool, which he played for over 45 years and won many awards for. But none meant more to him than the friends he had made. Bob was a truck driver by heart and had just started working for the Harrison family, when he was diagnosed with lung cancer. Even though he had only worked for them a short time, Bob's family is very thankful for the Harrison family's never ending support, kindness and care. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, both sets of grandparents, aunts and uncles and a grandson, Robert Allen French.

He is survived by his wife: Elaine; children: Michael (Lois) French, Mark French, Martin French, Matthew (Kristen) French, Melissa (Keith) Maas, Michelle French; grandchildren: Jessica, Naomi, Henry, Austin, Shelby, Alison, Kyle, Tanner, Courtney, Eliana and Ethan; great-grandchild, Destiny; sisters and brother: Donna (Dave) Severson of Monroe, Diana (Don) Westphal of Monroe, Duane (Amy) French of Monroe. Along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and so many wonderful friends.

Memorial services will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2010 in the New Life Community Advent Christian Church, Baraboo, with Pastor Jesse Stevens officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at the church. The family requests memorials of remembrance for Bob in lieu of flowers. The Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
