Green County Sheriff

• Martinez G. Cruz, 27, Monroe, was cited for driving with a suspended license following a three-vehicle crash with injuries reported at 3:52 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, on Wisconsin 11 at Wisconsin 81/County GG in the Town of Spring Grove. Cruz was turning westbound onto Wis. 11 from Wis. 81 when he lost control of his vehicle in the intersection. His vehicle was struck by an eastbound semi driven by Daniel R. Lawinger, 46, Monroe. Cruz's vehicle subsequently rolled into a vehicle driven by Jennifer A. Newcomer, 27, Monroe. Cruz, Newcomer and her 10-month-old passenger were all transported by Brodhead Area EMS for injuries they sustained in the accident. The Cruz vehicle was severely damaged and towed. The Newcomer vehicle was moderately damaged and towed. Lawinger's semi was moderately damaged and driven from the scene. Further citations against Cruz are pending.

• Three Monroe residents were jailed after deputies investigated a report of a vehicle theft in Browntown at 10:59 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23. About ten hours later, deputies located the stolen vehicle on Wis. 11 at County M in the Town of Cadiz. As a result, Kenneth M. Moore, 37, was arrested on a Department of Corrections probation and parole hold; Kyrene R. Trevino, 27, was arrested on a charge of bail jumping; and Christopher S. Meritt, 21, was arrested on charges of bail jumping and marijuana possession. Other charges are pending against the three.

Albany Police

ALBANY - Heather L. Halvorson, 24, Albany, was arrested Thursday, Sept. 20, on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration and having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.

Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Tina Dammen, 23, Argyle, was cited for driving without proof of vehicle insurance Friday, Sept. 21, following a traffic stop on Wells Street.

• Brandon Black, 27, Darlington, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance Sunday, Sept. 23, following a traffic stop on Galena Street.

• Grant Garvey, 16, Darlington, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance Sunday, Sept. 23, following a traffic stop on Wisconsin 23.

Monroe Police

MONROE - Courtney S. Daubert, 25, Monroe, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated (second offense), unsafe lane deviation and keeping open intoxicants in a motor vehicle at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, in the 2700 block of Wis. 11. She was released pending court.

• Todd S. Schoville, 40, Monroe, was cited for hit-and-run on an unattended vehicle and failure to maintain control after police responded at 12:24 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, to a hit-and-run accident in the 1200 block of 10th Street. After hearing that the offending driver fled on foot, officers located Schoville three blocks away. He collided with a legally parked vehicle owned by Penny R. Raab, Monroe.

• Kyler J. Bushey, 18, Freeport, Ill., was cited for retail theft at 5:32 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, after he allegedly stole lip balm worth $1.03 from Walmart, 300 6th Ave. W.

• A 19-year-old man was warned at 6:13 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, for riding a bicycle on the downtown Square, a violation of city code.

• A 16-year-old male in the 1300 block of 16th Avenue was warned to move along at 8:02 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, after police responded to a complaint of teenagers hanging out on the stoops of homes around Monroe Middle School.

• Property owners in the 1100 block of 17th Avenue and 1200 block of 25th Street were warned Thursday, Sept. 20, to clean up excessive weeds.

• Scratches on a parked vehicle in the 1200 block of 9th Street were reported at 9:37 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20.

• A lawn chair found near the Monroe Public Library was turned over to police at 11:16 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20. To claim, call dispatch at (608) 329-2400.

• A 16-year-old male was referred to Green County Juvenile Intake after police responded to a physical altercation between two students at Monroe High School at 2:46 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20. The 16-year-old reportedly punched a 14-year-old boy. The school also took its own disciplinary action.

• A resident in the 1100 block of 13th Avenue was warned not to burn leaves in a pit at 6:25 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20. Per city code, only wood may be burned in a fire pit.

• A citation is pending against a resident in the 1500 block of 23rd Street for allowing dogs to bark unchecked. The resident is a repeat offender. Police were dispatched to the most recent complaint at 8:33 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22.

• A GPS unit and another electronic device were stolen out of two unlocked vehicles parked in a residential driveway in the 1000 block of 2nd Street North. The theft was reported at 6:53 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21.

• An 11-year-old boy is being referred to Green County Juvenile Intake after police responded to a report of a dispute between two 11-year-old boys at Monroe Middle School at 9:27 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21. The offending 11-year-old threatened that he had a knife and planned to kill the other student for picking on him. The school also took its own disciplinary action.

• A key was reported stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 1400 block of Willow Way at 9:41 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21.

• An out-of-control 12-year-old boy was escorted out of Monroe Middle School and turned over to a family member at 11:42 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21.

• One parent reported possible child abuse at the hands of the other parent at 6:18 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, in the 300 block of 4th Street. Police are investigating the allegations.

• At about 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, a man who had been out drinking at area bars visited a resident in the 1700 block of 15th Street. The resident told the man to leave and then punched him. The man reported the assault to police but, in the end, neither the visitor or resident wished to pursue charges.

• Vandalism to a vehicle in the 2300 block of 17th Avenue was reported at 8:59 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23. The vehicle had been "scribbled" on using a water-based paint or chalk.

• Police are investigating a small fire found smoking in a restroom at Twining Park, 400 14th St., at 11:49 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23. A towel dispenser and the wall were damaged in the fire.

• The owner of a vehicle in the 2300 block of 13th Avenue reported a foreign substance - possibly smears of Vaseline and then flour - on the vehicle at 12:42 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23.

• Police were dispatched at 4:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, to a dispute between a man and his adult daughter in the 2500 block of 13th Avenue. He accused her of not taking proper care of her children. She took umbrage to his criticism. Police made no arrests.

• The theft of two engagement/wedding rings out of a locked vehicle in the 2300 block of 16th Avenue was reported at 7:55 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23. Police are investigating a suspect.

New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - John Williams, 17, New Glarus, was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, after police stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation in the 1100 block of Wis. 69. He was also cited for driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration, a defective license plate lamp and possession of drug paraphernalia. Three passengers, all from New Glarus, were cited for underage drinking: Haley Ferro, 18, Todd Duerst, 17, and River Lee, 17. Lee was also cited for keeping open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. All were released pending an Oct. 29 court appearance.

• Daniel L. Hefty, 39, Vero Beach, Fla., was cited for having open intoxicants in public at 4:55 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, after police responded to a report of a person drinking on the street in the 500 block of 7th Street.

• Donna M. Green, 54, Monroe, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 2:58 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, after she was stopped for an equipment violation on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• Michael F. Lambert, 37, Monroe, was cited for speeding at 12:28 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

• Rosalba Alba, 35, New Glarus, was cited for making an improper left turn and driving as a permittee without an instructor, parent or person age 21 or older after officers responded at 3:46 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, to a two-car crash on 5th Street at 7th Avenue. Alba collided with an SUV. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

• Barbara C. Marty, 67, New Glarus, was cited for driving without a license after police responded at 5:25 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, to a two-vehicle crash in the New Glarus Elementary School parking lot, 1420 2nd St. Marty was parking a 2011 Chevrolet Cavalier when she struck a legally parked 2006 Cadillac Escalade belonging to Michael R. Miller, New Glarus. There were no injuries, and both vehicles sustained minor damage.

• Daniel L. Ryan, 58, Mount Horeb, was cited for driving with a suspended license and suspended vehicle registration at 10:44 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, after he was stopped for equipment violations in the 800 block of 6th Avenue.

• Victoria E. Redick, 19, Columbus, was cited for displaying unauthorized registration plates at 6:52 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, after police stopped her for an equipment violation on Wis. 69 at 14th Avenue.

DARLINGTON - Mary A. Bergum, 46, Middleton, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and operating left of center at 10:59 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, on County N in the Town of Wiota.

• Reese R. Guillory, 22, Gratiot, was cited for speeding and driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 8:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, on Wis. 11 in the Town of Wayne.

• Brent M. Carlovsky, 20, Winnebago, Ill., was cited for speeding at 11:51 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, on Wis. 81 in the Town of Seymour.

• Justin J. Brunner, 22, Monroe, was cited for speeding at 1:37 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, on Wis. 81 in the Town of Elk Grove.
