Monroe Police

MONROE - A 17-year-old girl was kicked out of a group home in the 1700 block of 15th Street at about 8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, after she reportedly hit another resident, a 14-year-old girl. Police referred the case to Rock County authorities.

On Tuesday, Sept. 18:

• Glen A. Swedlund, 35, Monroe, was arrested after police responded to a 911 call at 12:31 a.m. from a 40-year-old woman reporting an altercation at a residence in the 2000 block of 18th Avenue. Swedlund allegedly put the woman in a choke hold to prevent her from leaving and violently put his hand over her mouth. He faces misdemeanor charges in Green County Circuit Court of disorderly conduct and of dissuading a victim from reporting a crime and felony charges of strangulation and intimidation using force. His signature bond was set the following day at $3,000, with the conditions that he not drink or enter establishments that sell primarily alcohol. His preliminary hearing is Oct. 10.

• A resident in the 1300 block of 16th Avenue was warned for allowing a dog to run at large after the animal was found "walking himself" at 9:37 a.m.

• A theft of money was reported at 2:15 p.m. by a resident in the 800 block of 8th Street. Police have a lead and are investigating.

• A neighbor of an elderly woman with dementia in the 300 block of 26th Avenue reported at 6:41 p.m. that her family members may be taking advantage of her and visiting her in violation of a no-contact order. Police are investigating the situation.

• Two missing folding chairs were reported at 7:57 p.m. The caller told police the chairs had gone missing after the parade Sunday during Cheese Days.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Taylor Marie Snider, 19, Monroe, was cited for speeding and driving with a suspended license at 4:43 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, in the W8900 block of Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Cadiz.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Joseph T. Clark, 20, Monroe, was cited for speeding at 10:39 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, on Wisconsin 81 in the Town of Seymour.
