Monroe Police

MONROE - Samantha E. Stoneback, 21, Monroe, and Rachel M. Sillman, 20, Browntown, were cited for retail theft at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, after they allegedly shoplifted ten DVDs from Shopko, 405 W. 8th St.

• Police took a report at 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, that window screens had been cut at Monroe Middle School, 1510 13th St., causing about $20 in damage.

• A resident in the 1400 block of 11th Street was warned to remove a vehicle parked on the grass in the backyard at 10:12 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, after police responded to a neighbor's complaint.

• At 2:47 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, Monroe High School referred a 17-year-old male student to the Monroe Police Department for not coming to school the first week. A citation is pending.

• Two skateboarders were warned for riding in the street at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, in the 1300 block of 16th Avenue.

• A resident in the 2500 block of 9th Avenue reported at 5:41 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, that a sign supporting Mitt Romney for president had been taken from their front yard.

• Police are investigating a possible burglary in the 900 block of 13th Avenue, reported at 7:38 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10. Among the items suspected missing are a firearm, a Japanese Samurai ceremonial sword and marijuana pipes.

• A resident in the 900 block of 12th Street was warned for leaving a barking dog outside at 8:58 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, in the 900 block of 12th Street, after police responded to a neighbor's complaint.

• Police responded at 9:59 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, to a residence in the 1500 block of 23th Street where barking dogs have been a repeated nuisance. A citation is likely if the residents don't remedy the situation immediately.

• A concrete block form weighing about 280 pounds was reported stolen at 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, from Bard Materials, 1207 18th St.

• Thousands of dollars in cash was reported stolen from a lockbox in an apartment in the 800 block of 13th Avenue at 9:29 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11. There was no sign of forced entry or of a random break-in. Police are investigating leads.

• A resident in the 900 block of 10th Street was warned at 10:27 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, to clean up weeds and an unmowed lawn.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Tuesday, Sept. 11:

• Gary B. Child, 46, Monroe, was arrested at the Green County Justice Center at 1:34 p.m. for a Department of Corrections probation violation. He was jailed.

• Jody E. Schmidt, 33, Belleville, was cited for speeding and driving with a suspended license at 5:16 p.m. in the W5400 block of Wisconsin 11.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Tuesday, Sept. 11:

• Dale R. Slade, 56, Livingston, was arrested on County P in the Town of Monticello at 2:04 p.m. on charges of driving with a revoked license, without a commercial driver's license and with an expired vehicle registration.

• Kevin D. Gille, 47, South Wayne, was cited for a seatbelt violation at 3:45 p.m. on Warren Street in South Wayne.

• Romeo DeJesus Villatoro Martinez, 26, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license and keeping open intoxicants in a vehicle at 8:18 p.m. on Wisconsin 81 in the Town of Seymour.

• Several head of cattle were reported missing at 9:10 a.m. from a farm on Mullen Road in the Town of White Oak Springs.
