New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - On Monday, Aug. 31:

• Devon K. Jacobson, 22, New Glarus, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 4:21 p.m. after police observed an equipment violation on his vehicle in the 1000 block of Railroad Street.

• Ryan B. Whitehead, 24, New Glarus, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 8:13 p.m. after police observed an equipment violation on his vehicle in the 1400 block of Wisconsin 69.

On Tuesday, Sept. 1:

• Dean C. Fuchs, 49, New Glarus, was cited for a seatbelt violation at 3:47 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 6th Avenue.

• Adam W. Bauer, 44, Monroe, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance after police observed him speeding at 7:45 p.m. in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

On Wednesday, Sept. 2:

• William E. Holcomb, 37, Monroe, was cited for a seatbelt violation at 9:37 a.m. on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• Patrick W. Boyle, 46, Darlington, was cited for a seatbelt violation at 9:53 a.m. on 6th Avenue at Railroad Street.

• Roger A. Michael, 71, Monroe, was cited for a seatbelt violation at 10:18 a.m. on Wis. 69 at 14th Avenue.

• Kassi R. Baker, 20, Monticello, was cited for a seatbelt violation and for driving without vehicle insurance at 11:48 a.m. on Wis. 69 at County W.

• Jenalyn L. Brethorst-Paweski, 34, Sauk City, was cited for driving an unregistered vehicle and for driving without vehicle insurance at 12:42 p.m. on 2nd Street at 4th Avenue.

• Tyler P. Perkins, 16, Belleville, was cited for failure to stop for an adult crossing guard at 3:25 p.m. in the 1400 block of 2nd Street.

• At 5:33 p.m., police warned multiple people for parking in a prohibited area in the 700 block of Elmer Road.

• Shawn L. Degeest, 50, Belleville, was cited for driving without a valid license or vehicle insurance at 6:34 p.m. in the 1400 block of Wis. 69.

• New Glarus police assisted Monticello police at 10:45 p.m. with unsecure premises in the 100 block of Highland Avenue.

On Thursday, Sept. 3:

• Jamie L. Baker, 36, Monticello, was cited for a seatbelt violation and for driving an unregistered vehicle at 9:15 a.m.

• Corey J. Lien, 41, Brooklyn, was cited for a seatbelt violation at 3:16 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• At 3:33 p.m., police removed a large rock from the roadway on Wis. 69 at 14th Avenue.

• Police were flagged down at 4:26 p.m. to assist citizens with a civil dispute. The citizens were told this was a civil dispute and they worked out the problem amongst themselves.

• Tobi L. Silgman, 41, Madison, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 5:29 p.m. after police observed a speeding violation in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

• Police received a report at 8:18 p.m. of suspicious activity in the 100 block of 2nd Street. The department is putting extra patrol in the area.

• Eric M. Fish, 35, New Glarus, was cited for driving with a suspended license, no valid driver's license and no vehicle insurance after police observed an equipment violation on his vehicle at 9:42 p.m. in the 10 block of 2nd Street. Fish legally parked the vehicle and walked home.

On Friday, Sept. 4:

• A theft of property from a residence in the 200 block of 2nd Street was reported at 8 a.m.

• Devin B. Clark, 27, Janesville, was cited for illegal vehicle-window tint at 5:54 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• Police responded at 5:57 p.m. to a burglar alarm in the 1800 block of 2nd Street. Everything was found to be OK.

• Michael J. Darrow, 29, New Glarus, was cited for a seatbelt violation and for driving with a suspended license and no vehicle insurance at 6:33 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• At 7:48 p.m., police conducted traffic control for the children's lantern parade.

• An orange Jeep that crossed the center line and almost struck a semi in the 1500 block of Wis. 69 was reported at 9:51 p.m. Police searched the area and did not locate the Jeep.

On Saturday, Sept. 5:

• At 10:10 a.m., a citizen brought in a lost key and key chain to the police department that he found in the 10 block of Wis. 69 in front of the post office. No owners are known at this time.

• Amanda L. Showers, 32, Monroe, was cited for illegal vehicle-window tint at 3:36 p.m. in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

• Matthew C. Rolli, 21, Belleville, was cited for a seatbelt violation at 5:37 p.m. on Wis. 69 at Kubly Road.

• Heidi L. Thomann, 33, Monroe, was cited for speeding at 6:14 p.m. in the 1000 block of Wis. 69.

• Taylor J. Disch, 20, New Glarus, was cited for a seatbelt violation at 7:13 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• A suspicious vehicle around a business in the 1400 block of Wis. 69 was reported at 9:30 p.m. The vehicle was located and everything was found to be OK.

• Police responded at 10:24 p.m. to a burglar alarm in the 1800 block of 2nd Street. Everything was found to be OK.

On Sunday, Sept. 6:

• A possible theft from a residence on 1st Avenue was reported at 12:54 p.m.

• Police responded at 2:10 p.m. to a 911 call from a cellphone in the area of the New Glarus Brewery. The area was checked and no problems were found.

• Jay R. Salcedo Estoya, 24, New Glarus, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 6:40 p.m. in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

• Police assisted a number of juveniles at 6:52 p.m. in getting back their volleyball that had fallen into the New Glarus Public Pool.

• A possible disturbance was reported at 9:30 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Street. The person involved was released to a responsible party and told not to come back to the Wilhelm Tell Festival.

DARLINGTON - On Wednesday, Sept. 9:

• A deputy responded at 8:15 a.m. to Aetna Road, Town of New Diggings, for found property.

• A traffic complaint was reported at 11:57 a.m. on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg. It was unfounded.

• A deputy assisted Probation and Parole at 1:16 p.m. on County G, Town of Belmont.

• A traffic complaint was reported at 2:39 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot. It was unfounded.

• A deputy responded at 6:33 p.m. to Wis. 78, Town of Wiota, for found property.

• Criminal damage to property was reported at 10:49 p.m. on Dimmicks Road, Town of Monticello.
