Albany Police

ALBANY - Stephen D. Detra, 38, Albany, was arrested on a charge of physical abuse of a child Wednesday, Sept. 5, related to an incident that occurred the previous day. He faces a Class F felony in Green County Circuit Court. Detra signed a $3,000 signature bond Monday, Sept. 10, with the conditions that he not drink or enter establishments that sell primarily alcohol and have no contact with the victim, any other person under the age of 15 or a residence in the 300 block of West Nichols Street in Albany. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled Oct. 9.

- Cameron Housel, 21, Madison, was arrested Thursday, Sept. 6, on a warrant issued by Dane County for a felony assault charge.

- Cody Kirschbaum, 24, Albany, was arrested Friday, Sept. 8, on charges of possessing a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, displaying false registration plates and non-registration of a vehicle.

- Brenton A. Drewel, 30, Albany, was cited Wednesday, Sept. 5, for harassment.

Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - A 16-year-old Brodhead male was cited Sunday, Sept. 2, for a curfew violation that occurred the previous day.

- Shawna R. Schnorr, 39, Raleigh, N.C., was cited for speeding in the 300 block of East 9th Avenue at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2.

- Charles R. Palan, 19, Janesville, was cited for speeding in the 600 block of 1st Street at 2:52 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2.

- Robert W. Zandi, 59, Marion, Iowa, was cited for speeding in the 600 block of 1st Street at 6:53 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3.

- Wilmar M. Palmer, Jr., 52, Brodhead, was cited for allowing an animal to run at large in the 1100 block of 11th Street at 2:01 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8.

Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Dillin Thompson, 20, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license Friday, Sept. 7, following a traffic stop on Main Street.

- Timoteo Mendoza, 36 of Darlington, was cited for inattentive driving, operating left of center, driving without a valid license and driving without vehicle insurance Sunday, Sept. 9, following a single-vehicle accident on Ravine Street.

Monroe Police

MONROE - Patricia L. McVay, 20, Brodhead, was arrested on charges of possessing marijuana, drug paraphernalia and an illegally obtained prescription medication at 3:14 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, in the 800 block of 8th Street. Police arrested her after observing a suspicious movement in a vehicle. When an officer ran the license plate, records showed it was registered to a different vehicle. A K-9 dog sniffed out 30 grams of suspected marijuana that had been divided in equal weights among three baggies in McVay's purse. Police estimate 30 grams of marijuana has a street value of about $100 to $150. McVay was jailed. She signed a $1,000 signature bond in Green County Circuit Court on Monday, Sept. 10, for three misdemeanor charges related to the arrest.

- Phillip D. Hoffman, 28, Monroe, was arrested for drinking alcohol in violation of his probation at 3:50 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, in the 2000 block of 13th Street. He was jailed.

- Kayla D. Graff, 21, Monroe, was cited for retail theft at 12:56 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, after she allegedly stole clothing worth $22 from Walmart, 300 6th Ave. W.

- Laci L. Ramsden, 30, Monroe, was cited for retail theft at 8:26 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, after she allegedly stole clothing from Walmart, 300 6th Ave. W.

- The Monroe Public Library reported at 8:25 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, that one of its Kindle e-readers, worth about $135, had not been returned. Police are investigating it as a theft.

- A 51-year-old Monroe woman reported slipping and falling on the freshly-painted crosswalk at 12th Avenue and 9th Street at 11:33 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6. She sustained minor injuries.

- A resident in the 2500 block of 5th Avenue reported unauthorized use of a debit card at 4:43 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6.

- A resident in the 700 block of 15th Avenue complained at 6:04 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, that a neighbor is creating a nuisance by repeatedly doing mechanical work in his garage late at night. Police are looking into the complaint.

- Police investigated a complaint at 5:42 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, that a resident in the 300 block of 2nd Street was keeping too many animals in an apartment. Officers found one dog and several cats in excess of the city limit of three of each animal. The resident told police one dog and several cats belonged to others. One of the dogs had fleas but police determined it was being treated and the rest of the animals looked healthy. The resident was warned to license the animals and return the ones owned by others.

- A 13-year-old girl in the 500 block of West 21st Street was referred to Green County Juvenile Intake after police responded at 9:24 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, to a report that she was out of control and throwing a fit.

- Police took down another handwritten sign offering cash for houses at 9:01 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8. About 20 of the signs have been removed from city-owned utility poles around the city in recent weeks. Police called the number provided and warned the person to stop.

- Police took down garage sale signs from utility poles around the city at 2:37 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8. It is a violation of city code to affix signs to city-owned property without permission.

- A man was treated for minor injuries at the Monroe Clinic ER after a dog bit him in the 2500 block of 1st Street. Police took a report of the incident at 11:12 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9. Because the dog did not have all the required shots, the animal is being quarantined at a vet.

- A stop sign at 21st Street and 9th Avenue was found cut down at 11:48 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9. The streets department was notified to fix it.

- A 14-year-old is being referred to Dane County authorities after a case worker at a group home in 1700 block of 15th Street reported at 3:58 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, that the girl struck her.

- A resident called police at 5:31 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, to report that an unknown party dumped an old box spring and mattress in the resident's driveway.

New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Neli A. Farias, 45, Beloit, was arrested on an outstanding warrant after police stopped her for a traffic violation on Wisconsin 69 at 11th Avenue at 9:11 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4.

- Rolland A. Ekena, 74, Elmwood, Ill., was cited for speeding in the 1100 block of Wis. 69 at 9:59 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3.

- Braden L. Rindy, 31, Monroe, was cited for speeding in the 1000 block of Wis. 69 at 6:08 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3.

- Stephen K. Hirsch, 60, Streamwood, Ill, was cited for speeding in the 1400 block of Wis. 69 at 7:14 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3.

- Kenneth M. Johnson, 22, Monroe, was cited for driving with a revoked license after police stopped him for an equipment violation on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue at 9:06 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3.

- Lisa M. Sarrica, 48, Cape Coral, Fla., was cited for possessing open intoxicants outside the premises on 6th Avenue at Railroad Street at 9:28 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3.

- Dianne R. Griswold, 57, Madison, was cited for speeding and driving with a suspended license at 12:22 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at an unspecified location.

- Andrew P. Wersal, 67, New Glarus, was cited for speeding in the 10 block of 2nd Street at 1:46 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6.

- Leonard R. Lee, 36, New Glarus, was cited for speeding at 2:24 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

- Linda S. Calderon, 58, New Glarus, was cited for speeding in the 1100 block of Wis. 69 at 1:46 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8.

- Police were called at 6:59 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, to a residence in the village for a welfare check on an intoxicated person. New Glarus Area EMS was requested, and the person was taken into protective custody.
