Monroe Police

MONROE - Logan A. Huber, 20, Monroe, was cited for retail theft at 3:16 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at Pick 'n' Save, 246 8th St.

• Deborah K. Jansen, 48, Monroe, was cited for failure to yield right-of-way and for driving with no valid license after police responded at 7:24 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, to a two-vehicle accident with minor injuries in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue. A moped operated by Michael J. Egli, 46, Monroe, was northbound on 3rd Avenue when a white Dodge driven by Jansen pulled out in front of him. Egli lost control of the moped when he applied the brakes and fell to the ground. He was transported by private vehicle to the Monroe ER for his non-life threatening injuries.

• Police took a report at 6:38 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, that two vehicles in the 600 block of 26th Avenue had been spray-painted.

• A vehicle egging in the 900 block of 23rd Street was reported at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29.

• Police responded to a complaint at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, that a dog was locked a vehicle in the 100 block of West 8th Street and showing signs of ill health. The owner was located. He told police he bought the dog from someone on Craigslist but now he's trying to return the animal because it howls all night. Police advised him the dog didn't look healthy and warned him to take better care of the dog or find a new home for it.

• A man was warned for trespassing in city-controlled gravel pits near the 400 block of 18th Avenue at 7:09 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29. The man admitted to police he was looking for free sand.

• Property owners in the 1900 block of 6th Street and 1300 block of 10th Street were issued warnings Thursday, Aug. 30, to clean up brush piled on the terrace.

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, Aug. 30:

• Kory R. Costa, 17, South Wayne, was arrested at 9:22 p.m. by the Brodhead Police Department on warrants issued by Lafayette County. He was transported to Lafayette County and jailed.

• Brian D. Branz, 48, Janesville, was cited for speeding at 12:07 p.m. on Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Shullsburg.

• Philip A. Walsh, 34, Cottage Grove, was cited for speeding at 12:43 p.m. on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont.

n John K. Sturm, 63, Hanover, Ill., was cited for speeding at 12:49 p.m. on Wis. 11 in the Town of Wayne.

• Grace Ann H. Zastrow, 23, North Freedom, was cited for speeding, driving without proof of vehicle insurance and non-registration of an automobile at 12:58 p.m. on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont.

• Jamie R. Bartell, 22, Benton, was cited for speeding at 1:34 p.m. on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont.

• Howard J. Gleason, 46, Pewaukee, was cited for speeding at 1:41 p.m. on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont.

• Tiffany L. Ziegler, 22, Barneveld, was cited for speeding at 1:42 p.m. on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont.

• Erin K. Tollefson, 42, Monroe, was cited for speeding, driving with a revoked license and driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 1:51 p.m. on Wis. 11 in the Town of Wayne.

• Kenneth E. Backman, 72, Platteville, was cited for driving without proof of vehicle insurance and failure to stop for an emergency vehicle at 2:11 p.m. on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont.

n Mateusz M. Walkowiak, 34, Elmhurst, Ill., was cited for speeding at 2:36 p.m. on U.S. 151 in the Town of Belmont.

• David E. Acierno, 39, Belmont, was cited for speeding at 3:28 p.m. on Wisconsin 81 in the Town of Elk Grove.

n John P. Bonjean, 22, Green Bay, was cited for speeding and driving without vehicle insurance at 3:30 p.m. on Wis. 81 in the Town of Elk Grove.
