Monroe Police

MONROE - On Friday:

• A complaint of retail theft was reported at 11:31 a.m. in the 1600 block of 9th Street. Guadalupe M. Chaddick, 48, of Monroe was cited and released for retail theft.

• Officers made contact with Ricky T. Olson, 20, of New Glarus at 4:44 p.m. in the 1400 block of 14th Avenue. Olson was arrested on a probation and parole violation and jailed.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Friday, Luis Carlos Rodriguez De Jesus, 25, Beloit, was cited at 1:35 a.m.

for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's license, first offense, on Wisconsin 81 at County T, Town of Spring Grove. He was released pending court.

On Saturday, deputies stopped a motor vehicle in the N300 block of Wisconsin 69, Town of Clarno, at 1:09 a.m. for a traffic violation. A passenger, Corey L. Coplien, 39, of Monroe, was taken into custody on a Department of Corrections probation violation. Coplien was jailed.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD- On Oct. 9:

• Police issued warnings to two juveniles at 1:44 a.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue for violation of the curfew ordinance. The juveniles were released to a responsible party.

• Police issued a warning at 2:04 a.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue to a juvenile for violation of the curfew ordinance; the juvenile was released to a responsible party.

• A 46-year-old Brodhead man was cited at 3:33 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Ave. for failure to yield to a pedestrian.

On Oct. 10:

• Police responded at 6:59 p.m. to the 700 block of 21st Street for a report of disorderly conduct; subjects were yelling inappropriate statements from a moving vehicle. Police checked the area but did not locate the vehicle.

On Oct. 11:

• A 16-year-old Brodhead male was warned for truancy at 8:58 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.

• Possible fraud to Medicaid was reported at 11:49 a.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street. The matter remains under investigation.

• Police responded at 6:18 p.m. to 2100 W. 9th Ave. for a minor collision that occurred in the parking lot. Because it happened on private property, no citations will be issued.

• Police responded at 10:36 p.m. to the 800 block of East Exchange Street for a vehicle in violation of the junk vehicle ordinance. The matter remains under investigation.

• The theft of a motor vehicle was reported at 11:34 p.m. in the 900 block of West Exchange Street; a vehicle was parked behind a business and was taken by an unknown subject. During the course of the investigation, the vehicle was returned to the owner's residence.

On Wednesday:

• A 27-year-old Monroe man was cited at 7:54 a.m. in the 2400 block of West 9th Avenue for speeding.

• A 67-year-old Monroe man was cited at 8:33 a.m. in the 700 block of 1st Street for speeding and failure to wear a seat belt.

• Police responded at 10:57 a.m. to the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue for a report of a gas drive-off. Police are seeking a subject to question about this incident.

• Harassment was reported at 2:09 a.m. in the 800 block of 12th Street. A subject was receiving unwanted phone calls. Contact was made and a warning was issued.

• At 6:30 p.m., police responded to the 900 block of 19th Street for a missing person report. During the course of the investigation, the subject was located and was determined to be safe.

On Thursday:

• Police responded at 1:08 p.m. to the 1300 block of East 2nd Avenue for the report of a dog at large. Contact was made and a warning was issued.

• At 4:47 p.m.., a 55-year-old Brodhead man was cited in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue for unsafe passing on right.

• Theft was reported at 6:19 p.m. in the 300 block of 23rd Street; several items had been removed from the property without permission. The matter remains under investigation.

On Friday:

• At 2:46 p.m., a 34-year-old Monroe woman was cited in the N2700 block of County GG for speeding and issued a warning for having no proof of insurance.

• A 56-year-old Brodhead woman was cited at 5:22 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue for speeding.

• Police responded at 8:34 p.m. to the 800 block of East 3rd Avenue for a report of a large box truck that was stuck and blocking traffic. Wreckers were contacted and the vehicle was removed. No damage was done to any property and no citations were issued.

On Saturday:

• At 7:35 a.m., an 18-year-old Orfordville woman was cited in the 100 block of 23rd Street for non-registration of a motor vehicle and also issued a warning for having no proof of insurance.

• An 18-year-old Brodhead woman was cited at 11:52 a.m. in the 500 block of 17th Street for having no insurance. Warnings were issued for speeding, not carrying a driver's license and change of address.

• A 66-year-old Machesney Park, Illinois, woman was cited at 3:47 p.m. for speeding in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue.

• Police responded at 7:56 p.m. to the 2600 block of 1st Center Avenue for a report of vandalism to a building. The property was checked and the investigation continues.



New Glarus Police

On Oct. 10:

• At 11:41 a.m., police received a report of a dog running at large in the village. The dog was caught and it appeared to have broken its cable tie-out. The dog was returned to the owner.

• A two-vehicle accident was reported at 3:41 p.m. in a parking lot in the 1400 block Wis. 69. The operator of a vehicle backed into a legally parked vehicle. There was minor damage to both vehicles and no injuries reported.

• Police responded to a call at 4:32 p.m. of children playing in the road in the 300 block of 8th Avenue. The kids and parents were contacted by police.

• Police received a found cell phone that was located in the 300 block of 4th Avenue at 6:29 p.m. The owner was later located and the property was returned.

• At 10:41 p.m., police responded to a commercial alarm in the 100 block of 5th Avenue. It was found to be a false alarm.

On Oct. 11:

• Police investigated a counterfeit $50 bill that passed to a local New Glarus business at 10:35 a.m. The incident is still under investigation and the United States Secret Service is also involved.

On Wednesday:

• Police were dispatched at 2:01 p.m. to the 600 block Wisconsin 69 for a 911 call. There was no emergency and the subject just needed the police to call a tow truck as their vehicle would not start.

• At 3:35 p.m., police observed a subject in the 700 block of 2nd Street who they knew had two warrants for his arrest. Allan J. Blahnik, 36, New Glarus, was arrested and incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

• Kevin D. Carlson, 33, Blanchardville, was stopped for speeding at 8:09 p.m. in the 1300 block of 6th Avenue.

• Police assisted a citizen with car issues at 8:56 p.m. in the 400 block of 3rd Street.

• Police unlocked a vehicle for a citizen at 9:03 p.m. in the 300 block of Elmer Road.

On Friday:

• At 4:16 p.m., police assisted a citizen that had locked their keys in their vehicle.

• Police assisted a citizen in locating his child at 5:57 p.m. The child was found to be safe.

• Police contacted the owner of a trailer that was parked illegally at 6:14 p.m. in the 200 block of Hoesly Drive. The vehicle had a blown tire and the owner said he would move the vehicle tomorrow.

• Police removed several pieces of metal that were laying in the intersection of Wisconsin 69 and 6th Avenue at 7:50 p.m..

• At 8:40 p.m., police made contact with a person who was parked illegally in the 400 block of 2nd Street. The driver immediately moved the vehicle and a warning was issued.

• A suspicious vehicle at a business in the 1100 block of 2nd Street was reported at 11:23 p.m. The vehicle was later determined to be all right to be at the business.

On Saturday:

• At 9:17 a.m., police responded to the 1700 block of 2nd Street for a report of a dog running at large. The owner was located.

• Police conducted a welfare check at 8:11 p.m. in the 800 block of Wisconsin 69. Police talked to the subject in question and everything appeared normal.

• Police investigated a suspicious vehicle at the New Glarus Brewery at 9:11 p.m. Upon investigation, the occupants of the vehicle stated they were playing Pokemon Go.
