Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Bridgette C. Barnes, 40, Hoffman Estates, Ill., was cited for speeding at 5:09 p.m. Thursday, July 26, on Wis. 11 in the Town of Gratiot.

• Melanie F. Segner, 45, Monroe, was cited for driving with no proof of vehicle insurance at 5:54 p.m. Thursday, July 26, on Wisconsin 81 in the Town of Lamont.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Darren C. Miller, 46, Janesville, was cited for driving with a suspended license (fourth offense or greater), speeding and driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 5:02 p.m. Thursday, July 26, on Wisconsin 11 at Richland Road.

• Deputies took a report of a stolen semi unit from a residence in the Town of Albany at 7:36 a.m. Thursday, July 26. The vehicle was later recovered in Rock County and returned to the owner. The theft is possibly the result of a civil disagreement, therefore not subject to criminal charges. The sheriff's department forwarded the case to the Green County District Attorney for review.

Monroe Police

MONROE - Sara M. Lawrence, 20, Monroe, was arrested in the 1100 block of 30th Street at 8:23 a.m. Thursday, July 26, on several outstanding warrants issued by the Monroe Police Department and Green County Sheriff's Department. She was jailed.

• An officer on patrol noticed a structural problem on the deck of a building in the 1600 block of 11th Street at 8:53 a.m. Thursday, July 26. The boards on the deck are "springy." The city building inspector was notified.

• Sporting equipment and a shotgun were reported stolen out of a garage in the 2000 block of 14th Avenue at 10:03 a.m. Thursday, July 26. The owner told police he suspected the items were stolen over the past few days when he left the garage door open while moving into the residence.

• A "whirlygig flower" lawn ornament in the 900 block of 17th Street was reported damaged at 11:32 a.m. Thursday, July 26.

• A property owner in the 1900 block of 9th Street was notified to clean up excessive weeds and thistles in the yard at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 26.
