MONROE - Police forwarded a case of reported domestic abuse to the Green County District Attorney after responding twice in less than 12 hours to a residence in the 1000 block of 17th Street. At 11:29 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, officers warned a man for burning an illegal campfire in the yard. At 8:35 a.m. the next morning, officers returned to take a report that the man was burning his girlfriend's property and had slashed the tires on a vehicle. No charges were filed.
Police forwarded a domestic case to Green County Human Services after responding at 2:57 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, to a home in the 400 block of West 21st Street. A noncustodial family member alleged a 12-year-old boy was being beaten by his stepfather. Officers investigated and found evidence the 12-year-old was being violent and the stepfather had stepped in to restrain him, according to Police Chief Fred Kelley. No charges were filed.

Briand, 31, Monroe, was arrested on multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated, after deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction at 11:17 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, on Wisconsin 11 west of Ullom Road in the Town of Cadiz. Briand was also cited for having a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration, speeding and driving with a suspended license and without proof of vehicle insurance. He was released pending court.
Jennifer L. Bartels, 29, Monroe, was taken into custody at 12:27 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, on a warrant issued by Green County for failure to appear in court. The arrest was made after deputies responded to a residence on Platinum Drive in the Town of Monroe for a reported domestic dispute. Bartels was jailed pending court.

DARLINGTON - Justin C. Herrig, 20, Dubuque, Iowa, was cited at for failure to stop at a stop sign at 8:43 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, on West Mound Road in the Town of Belmont.
Lynette M. Tierney, 47, Elgin, Ill., was cited for speeding at 8:57 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, on Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Gratiot.
