Monroe Police

MONROE - On Monday, Jan. 14:

• An officer on patrol found a dog wandering in the area of 13th Street and 22nd Avenue at 7:35 a.m. and returned it to its owner, a nearby resident.

• A resident reported damage to Christmas ornaments and a missing wooden Santa Claus in a yard in the 2700 block of 8th 1/2 Street at 11:19 a.m. The vandalism occurred sometime late the previous evening.

• A cement lawn ornament in the shape of a dog was found dumped in a yard in the 2900 block of 11th Street in the morning. Police were able to return the ornament to its owner in the 1000 block of 30th Avenue after the owner reported it stolen at 5:31 p.m.

• An employee at First National Bank and Trust, 1625 10th St., reported at 12:06 p.m. that someone had deposited a worthless check into an account and then withdrawn it as cash. Police are investigating leads.

• Police were called at 6:53 p.m. to referee a dispute between a landlord and tenant over pets in an apartment building in the 1300 block of 16th Street. The matter was civil, not criminal.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Monday, Jan. 14:

• Deputies transported several inmates. Emily E. Breitzke, 25, Madison, was taken from the Dane County Jail to Lafayette County for a court appearance, then returned to Dane County. Jason J. Durr, 35, Platteville, was taken from the Grant County Jail to the Lafayette County Jail, where he remains on a Department of Corrections probation hold. Ryan S. Rebout, 32, Janesville, was taken to the Dodge Correctional Institute in Waupun.

• Theodore A. Bauer, 35, South Wayne, was arrested for a Department of Corrections probation violation after deputies responded at 11:37 a.m. to a residence on Fritzges Road in the Town of Wayne for a welfare check on an adult and several children. A 2-year-old child was transported by Green County EMS for treatment of injuries sustained in a fall at the home. South Wayne First Response and a Wisconsin Patrol trooper assisted at the scene.

• A theft of money on County F in the Town of Fayette was reported at 6:22 p.m.
