Monroe Police

MONROE - Phillip D. Hoffman, 30, Dakota, Ill., was arrested at 2:41 a.m. for bail jumping following police contact in the 1600 block of 16th Street. Hoffman was jailed pending court. At his initial appearance on Monday in Green County Circuit Court, Hoffman was released on a $1,500 signature bond with conditions that he not drink, do drugs or enter bars and liquor stores.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Noe Martinez-Sarmito, 26, Woodford, was cited at 2:10 a.m. Saturday for driving without a valid license, second offense, and expired registration after deputies stopped his vehicle for a traffic violation on County M and County C, Town of Adams.

• Santos Vasquez-Gomez, 31, Winslow, Ill., was cited at 9:38 p.m. Sunday for driving without a valid license after deputies stopped his vehicle in the N500 block of Wisconsin 69, Town of Clarno. Vasquez-Gomez was released pending court.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday:

• A deputy responded to a complaint of animal neglect at 12:05 p.m. on County XX, Belmont Township.

• A deputy assisted Grant County deputies in investigating a traffic complaint of a vehicle tailgating an ambulance on Wisconsin 80, Grant County, at 10:23 p.m.

On Saturday:

• A deputy responded to a report of a tractor that lost a tire on County G, Belmont Township, at 10:25 a.m.

• A deputy responded at 4:25 p.m. to an injured animal on County M, Wiota Township.

• A deputy responded to a complaint of a possible drunk driver at 5:54 p.m. on East Water Street, Shullsburg.

On Sunday:

• Deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at 12:11 a.m. on North Warren Street, Village of South Wayne.

• A deputy responded to a report of a possible drunk driver in the Village of Blanchardville, at 1:48 p.m.

• Joseph P. Schubat, 35, Monroe, was arrested at 5:16 p.m. for driving while intoxicated after complaints of a driver running vehicles off the roadway on Wisconsin 11, Wayne Township. Schubat was later released to a responsible party.



Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Rodimiro Gutierrez-Santacruz, 24, Darlington, was arrested at 6:18 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, for driving a vehicle after revocation and cited for unsafe lane deviation and no insurance following a traffic stop on Center Drive. Gutierrez-Santacruz was jailed, booked and then released pending court.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Pedro Verdecia-Aguilar, 58, Madison, was arrested at 3:59 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, for driving while intoxicated, fourth offense, following a traffic infraction on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue. Verdecia-Aguilar was also arrested on three Dane County warrants. He was jailed pending court. Verdecia-Aguilar was also cited for driving while revoked, no insurance and failure to wear a seatbelt.

• Police investigated suspicious activity at 5:27 p.m. on Tuesday in the 1400 block of 2nd Street. Everything was found to be OK.

On Wednesday:

• Police received a complaint of a possible fraud attempt at 12:29 p.m. with a caller trying to make contact with a homeowner via phone and saying they were with the IRS. Police encourage citizens to be mindful when giving out personal information over the phone.

• New Glarus police assisted Belleville police in checking the village for a vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Belleville, at 11:42 a.m.

• Police took a report of annoying text messages being received from a subject in Fitchburg at 3:28 p.m. Thursday. Contact was made with the suspect and he was warned to stop sending harassing text messages.

• Dire N.P. Wolf, 40, New Glarus, was arrested at 4:35 p.m. Saturday for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and bail jumping in the 500 block of 10th Avenue, after police responded to a report of an intoxicated man being disorderly. Wolf was medically cleared and jailed pending court. At his initial appearance in Green County Circuit Court, Wolf had a signature bond set at $1,000 on a disorderly conduct charge stemming from an incident that occurred on Dec. 19, with conditions he not drink, do drugs or have contact with the alleged victims in this case. Wolf remains in jail until his bail/bond hearing on Tuesday for the charges incurred over the weekend.

• Police responded to a report of a man sleeping in a vehicle in the 500 block of 1st Street at 7:44 a.m. Sunday. Officers checked the area and did not locate the vehicle or the driver.
