Monroe Police

MONROE - Jenny M. Rogers, 27, Nora, Ill., was arrested at about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, in the 1800 block of 12th Street on a warrant issued by the Winnebago County (Illinois) Sheriff's Department for a probation violation. She was also cited for driving without a valid license. On Wednesday in Green County Court, Rogers was extradited to Illinois. Rogers is facing unrelated, felony charges in Green County of supplying heroin to two women who overdosed in the restroom of a rural Monroe tavern in October.

- Two 16-year-old girls from Argyle were cited for retail theft at 4:08 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at a business in the 400 block of W. 8th Street. Both are charged with stealing less than $50 in merchandise.

- A 45-year-old woman from Illinois was cited for retail theft at 12:03 p.m.. Monday, Dec. 26, at a business in the 300 block of 6th Avenue West. She allegedly stole about $70 in merchandise. Police are withholding her name pending a referral to the Green County District Attorney because the woman is out on bond.

- A theft of $26.06 in gas was reported from a business in the 1600 block of 9th Street, at 11:58 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22. Police located the suspect, and the bill was paid.

- Police took custody of a 12-year-old child with special needs at 8:50 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Parkside Elementary, 920 4th St. A family member came to the police station to pick up the child. The case has been referred to Green County Human Services.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Omar Cardenas, 20, Plainfield, Ill., was cited for driving left of center at 12:16 a.m. Monday, Dec. 26, following a two-vehicle crash on Wisconsin 69 north of Wuetrich Road in the Town of Clarno. Reports indicate he collided with Timothy J. Nye, 51, Freeport, Ill, causing Nye's vehicle to spin 180 degrees and come to rest in the middle of the road. Nye was injured but declined medical attention. A passenger in his vehicle, Barbara C. Nye, 69, Freeport, Ill., sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to the Monroe Clinic by EMS. Cardenas and his passenger reported no injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

- Monty O. Morris, 39, Rockton, Ill., was arrested on a charge of negligent use of a weapon and Danny E. Schickles, 36, Brodhead, was arrested on a domestic-abuse injunction violation of possessing a firearm after deputies responded at 6:05 a.m. Monday, Dec. 26, to a report of shots fired near a residence in the Town of Spring Grove. Morris was allegedly intoxicated and armed. Both were jailed pending court or bond.

- Dwayne R. Figy, 64, DeForest, and Kevin P. Figy, 40, Madison, were cited for trespassing at 11:01 a.m. Monday, Dec. 26, after deputies investigated a report of two hunters without permission on a private property in the N8300 block of Zentner Road in the Town of New Glarus.

- Diana K. Anderson, 47, Belleville, was cited at 5:36 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, for driving with a revoked license in the N7000 block of Wis. 69 in the Town of Washington.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Shannon K. Nafsger, 29, Juda, was cited failure to have insurance on a motor vehicle, following a traffic stop at 9:38 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, on Wisconsin 78 in the Town of Argyle.

- Bruce B. Carr, Jr., 19, Darlington, was cited for failure to have insurance on a motor vehicle, following a traffic stop at 3:58 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, on Wisconsin 81 in the Town of Darlington.

- Cynthia J. Burris, 47, Shullsburg, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated and cited for speeding, following a traffic stop at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, on Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Shullsburg. She was transported to the Lafayette County Jail and released to a responsible adult.
