Monroe Police

MONROE - Juan L. Lopez, 42, Monroe, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), unsafe lane deviation and driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration (first offense) at 1:05 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, in the 2100 block of 11th Avenue. He was released pending court.

- Brodie G. Flannery, 20, Monroe, was arrested in the 1000 block of 12th Avenue at 3:14 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, on warrants issued by the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department for failure to pay fines. He was later transported by a Lafayette County deputy to the jail in Darlington.

- A 64-year-old man is banned indefinitely from Dick's Piggly Wiggly, 725 8th St., after police were dispatched at 5:24 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, and 11:13 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, to reports that he shoplifted from the grocery store. Police were called to the store earlier last week for a similar incident involving the same man and determined he has a possible mental disorder. He was not cited.

- A bicyclist was warned at 6:39 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, for riding on the sidewalk in the area of 11th Street and 16th Avenue. It is a violation of city code to bike on the sidewalks within two blocks of the square downtown.

- A dog-owner in the 2800 block of 14th Street was warned after a neighbor called police at 7:36 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, to complain the dog was off its leash and had attacked someone. The neighbor told police - A homeless man sleeping on the porch of an abandoned house in the 1500 block of 15th Avenue was warned at 6:12 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, to move along.

- Plastic folding chairs worth $15 were reported stolen off a porch in the 2000 block of 14th Avenue at 12:18 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3.

- A dog-walker in Twining Park was warned at 1:21 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, that it is a violation of city code to walk a dog in the park.

- A warning notice was issued Friday, Aug. 3, to the owner of an apartment building in the 700 block of 8th Avenue to clean up excess weeds and thistles in the yard.

- A dog-walker in the 1600 block of 15th Avenue was warned at 11:13 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, for not using a leash, in violation of city code.

- A men's black wallet was found at 11:51 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, in the 300 block of 6th Avenue West. To claim, call dispatch at (608) 329-2400.

- A driver in the 600 block of 4th Avenue reported at 6:25 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, that another driver made no attempts to avoid hitting a duck. Officers were dispatched to look for a roadkill duck but all the ducks in the area appeared to be fine.

- A dog-walker in the area of 12th Avenue and 2nd Street was warned at 10:09 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, for not using a leash, in violation of city code.

- A resident in the 1400 block of Parkview Drive was warned at 10:49 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, for burning wood in an open pit, in violation of city code.

- Three people were warned for skateboarding on the Square at 11th Street and 16th Avenue, a prohibited area, at 6:10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5.

- A dog-owner in the 2100 block of 16th Avenue was warned at 7:16 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, for allowing a dog to roam at large.

New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Police learned that Nashieka M. Hogue, 23, Madison, had used another person's identity during a traffic stop in May. She was subsequently cited Wednesday, Aug. 1, for a seatbelt violation involving a child younger than 4, driving with a suspended license and interfering with a police officer/obstructing justice.

- Victoria A. Brock-Whaley, 39, Windsor, was cited for speeding in the 1100 block of Wisconsin 69 at 4:16 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1.

- Ronal Edwards was cited for possession of marijuana at 2:23 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, after police stopped a vehicle on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue for an equipment violation.

- Sydney Lynch, 21, Madison, was cited for driving without a valid license at 4:57 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, after police stopped her for speeding in the 600 block of Wis. 69 .

- Laurie K. Hammon, 44, Monroe, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 5:49 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, after police stopped her for an equipment violation on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

- Gary L. Foltz, 55, Mount Carroll, Ill., was cited for speeding at 8:39 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

- Samantha R. Jefferson, 27, Madison, was cited for speeding at 9:13 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

- A theft of property from a vehicle on 3rd Street was reported at 8:39 p.m. Monday, July 30. The case is under investigation.

- Vandalism was reported at the New Glarus Fire Department, 212 4th Ave., at 10:24 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1. The case is under investigation.

- At 7:17 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, police started taking several reports of vandalism and criminal damage to property occurring around the village. A suspect has been identified and the case remains under investigation.

- Damage to a light fixture at the Swiss United Church of Christ, 18 5th Ave., was reported at 12:44 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3. Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call dispatch at (608) 527-2145.

Albany Police

ALBANY - Charlene S. Tucker, 53, McFarland, was arrested Tuesday, July 31, on a charge of driving while intoxicated (second offense) and operating left of center.

- Benjamin M. Arpke, 32, Stoughton, was arrested Sunday, Aug. 5, on a charge of driving while intoxicated (second offense) and making an improper stop at a stop sign.

- Colten J. Shaw, 19, Orangeville, Ill., was arrested Sunday, Aug. 5, on charges of driving while under the influence of a controlled substance, operating left of center, underage drinking and possessing drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

- Ryan T. Alexander, 20, Albany, was cited Friday, Aug. 3, for driving with a suspended license.

- Jacqueline L. Thelen, 25, Madison, was cited Saturday, Aug. 4, for outside consumption of alcohol.

- Andy J. Markham, 36, Monroe, was cited Sunday, Aug. 5, for driving with a suspended license, non-registration of an auto, false display of registration plates, obstructing an officer and possessing marijuana.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Karlyn R. Brinkmeier, 52, Belleville, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated (first offense) after deputies stopped her for a traffic infraction on Wisconsin 92 at County W in the Town of Exeter at 11:33 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4. She was also cited for driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration and failure to stop at a stop sign. She was jailed pending bond or court.

- John Parr, 50, Monroe, was cited for failure to yield right-of-way at a stop sign after deputies, Monroe EMS and the Juda Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Wisconsin 11 and County S in the Town of Jefferson at 12:59 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. Parr was southbound on County S when he collided with an eastbound pickup truck driven by Samuel R. Heller, 25, Delavan. The impact caused the pickup to hit a highway sign, then veer off the road and down an embankment. A passenger in Parr's vehicle, Angela A. Parr, 46, Monroe, was injured but declined treatment at the scene. No other injuries were reported. Parr's vehicle was severely damaged and towed. The pickup Heller was driving was moderately damaged and also towed.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Theodore A. Bauer, 34, South Wayne, was taken into custody for a probation violation at a residence on Fritzges Road in the Town of Wayne at 3:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3. He was jailed.

- Michael A. Montanye, 52, Shullsburg, was arrested on a charge of physically abusing a child at 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, following an investigation into an incident involving a 15-year-old at a residence on Mullen Road in the Town of Shullsburg. The juvenile was allegedly injured in the face. Montanye was also placed on a Department of Corrections probation hold and jailed.

- Larry A. Tollefson, 64, Blanchardville, was taken into custody at the request of the Department of Corrections at 8 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, for a violation of his electronic monitoring at a residence on Oak Street in Blanchardville. He was jailed.

- Christopher A. Polkinghorn, 20, Maquoketa, Iowa, was arrested and jailed on a Department of Corrections probation hold at 10:55 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, after deputies stopped a vehicle on Main Street in Darlington. The driver, Taylor C. Berg, 17, Mineral Point, was cited for violating his Graduated Driver License by having too many passengers. Polkinghorn and two other passengers, Jamie L. Ripp, 17, and Morgan J. Mewis, 16, were cited for underage drinking. Mewis was also cited for transporting intoxicants as a minor.

- Thomas R. Gerdes, 29, Loves Park, Ill., was cited for speeding on the Cheese Country Trail in Darlington at 10:39 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3.

- William Johnson, 80, Stockton, Ill., was cited for speeding at 6:11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, on Wisconsin 23 in the Town of Shullsburg.

- Numerous citations were issued following a traffic stop on Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Gratiot at 1:52 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. Blake A. Bast, 16, Monroe, was cited for speeding and two violations of his Graduated Driver License restrictions (driving after midnight and having too many passengers). Five passengers, all ages 15 and 16 and of Monroe, were cited for seatbelt violations. The juveniles were turned over to the custody of responsible parties.

- Channing M. Brown, 23, Pearl City, Ill., was cited for speeding at 10:55 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, on County P in the Town of Shullsburg.

- Alisha J. Knoble, 23, Ossian, Iowa, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 1:01 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, on Wisconsin 81 in the Town of Seymour.

- Kyle P. Casper, 21, Cuba City, was cited for speeding and non-registration of a vehicle at 3:04 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, on County W in the Town of New Diggings.

- A deputy took possession at 12:29 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, of a large knife and sheath left at a residence on East Center Street in South Wayne.

- A deputy provided a ride to two female juveniles from the Monroe area who were stranded in Warren, Ill., and found walking on County KK in the Town of Gratiot. The Green County Sheriff's Department assisted with transporting the girls from the Lafayette County line into Monroe.

- The theft of several items from a rental property on Ingwell Road in the Town of Blanchard was reported at 11:29 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4. Previous tenants were identified as suspects.

- Two Benton boys, ages 15 and 13, were issued warnings at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, for curfew violations that occurred the previous night on Main Street in Benton.

- A burglary of medications from a residence on North Lafayette Street in Argyle was reported at 8:20 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. The case is under investigation.

- A 13-year-old called 911 at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, to complain of a parental discipline incident. The call was made as the family was traveling on Wis. 81 in the Town of Seymour. A deputy investigated. No arrest or citations were reported.

- Two Lafayette County businesses were cited over the weekend for selling tobacco to a minor. South Wayne Mart and Blanchardville Ampride Co-op were issued the citations Saturday, Aug. 4, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department. Both businesses reportedly violated state law by selling cigarettes to a minor on July 23.
