Albany Police

ALBANY - Anthony P. Berns-Leone, 23, Madison, was arrested Friday, Aug. 21, on a first-offense charge of driving while intoxicated and a charge of driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol content. He was also cited for stopping within an intersection.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - Officers responded to the 2200 block of West 5th Avenue for a report of verbal altercation between two males at 7:42 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, and resolved the matter.

On Monday, Aug. 17:

• A 54-year-old Atlanta, Ga., man was cited for speeding at 10:46 a.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

• A 34-year-old Wood-side, N.Y., man was cited for speeding at 12:54 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

• A 23-year-old Rockford, Ill., man was cited for speeding at 5:14 p.m. in the 1300 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Tuesday, Aug. 18:

• A 61-year-old Brodhead man was verbally warned for parking left of center after police responded to a parking complaint at 10:51 a.m. in the 600 block of West 3rd Avenue.

• Police responded at 11:37 a.m. to the 1000 block of 21st Street for a report of a male who had fallen and needed assistance. He was uninjured.

On Wednesday, Aug. 19:

• Juveniles throwing eggs at vehicles were reported at 12:25 a.m. in the 1300 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police checked the area and were unable to locate the juveniles.

On Thursday, Aug. 20:

• A code violation was reported at 12:09 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue. The case is under investigation.

On Friday, Aug. 21:

• A 24-year-old Sheboygan woman was cited for speeding at 12:36 p.m. at 1st Center Avenue and Green Street.

• A disorderly female was reported at 9:04 p.m. in the 1700 block of West 3rd Avenue. The case is under investigation.

On Saturday, Aug. 22:

• A 23-year-old Oshkosh woman was cited for speeding at 12:50 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.



Monroe Police

MONROE - Shannon Y. Matthews, 41, Madison, and Lisa M. Pernot, 38, Monroe, were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct at 11:26 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, as the result of a disturbance in the 500 block of 22nd Avenue. Both were released pending court.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - On Sunday, Aug. 16:

• New Glarus police assisted the Madison Police Department with an investigation.

• Erica Rodriguez Sauls, 39, Mount Horeb, was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police stopped a vehicle for a registration violation at 2:37 p.m. in the 300 block of Wisconsin 69.

• At 4:03 p.m., a citizen reported she had received a call from someone pretending to be the IRS and telling her the IRS was going to sue her. She recognized it as a scam and did not give the caller any information.

• Police conducted a welfare check at 4:13 p.m. in the 300 block of Elmer Road. The person was not home but was later contacted and found to be fine.

• Some broken items in an apartment in the 300 block of Elmer Road were reported at 5:38 p.m. The citizens involved were informed it is a civil issue, not a criminal issue.

• Brandon D. Swinbank, 23, Fitchburg, was cited for a window-tinting violation at 7:13 p.m. in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

• Around 9 p.m., police removed multiple branches off the roadway that were creating a traffic hazard in the 300 block of 8th Street.

On Monday, Aug. 17:

• Lauren A. Fricks, 22, Monroe, was cited for speeding at 12:14 p.m. in the 10 block of 2nd Street.

• Police took a report at 4 p.m. of a set of keys that were lost over the weekend.

• Police took a report at 3:15 p.m. of a two-vehicle crash between a semi/semi-trailer and a pick-up truck pulling a flatbed trailer. The crash occurred sometime prior to the report and remains under investigation.

• Police were dispatched at 5:47 p.m. to a 911 call from a residence in the 1200 block of 1st Street. Everything was OK. A child had possibly dialed 911 while playing with a cellphone.

• Police responded at 7 p.m. to perform a vehicle unlock in the 400 block of 3rd Avenue. After police arrived, a second key was located for the vehicle and no unlock was needed.

• Police received a set of vehicle and house keys at 7 p.m. that had been placed in the department's dropbox.

• At 9:43 p.m., police checked on a suspicious vehicle parked along Wis. 69 near the intersection with County W. The vehicle had a flat tire.

On Tuesday, Aug. 18:

• Christy D. Klosterman, 35, Blanchardville, was cited for seatbelt violation after police stopped her for speeding at 10:30 a.m. on 6th Avenue.

• Abdelkrim Bouakkaz, 45, Madison, and Richard C. Peterson, 55, Monroe, were issued multiple municipal citations for writing worthless checks after police responded at 11:30 a.m. to a business on Industrial Drive for a report of same.

• Hunter J. Tierman, New Glarus, was cited for speeding at 3:10 p.m. in the 400 block of 6th Avenue.

• At 8:06 p.m., police received a report of a manhole cover that was sticking out of the street and posed a traffic hazard. The manhole cover was located and placed back in its spot.

• A man in the 10 block of 2nd Street reported at 11:04 p.m. that his dog bit him. Police completed paperwork and turned the case over to the Green County Health Department.

On Wednesday, Aug. 19:

• Police received a complaint at 10:24 a.m. that traffic is speeding at all hours of the day on 3rd Avenue and the complainant would like the area monitored for violations.

On Thursday, Aug. 20:

• Tara N. Unbehaun, 37, Evansville, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance after police stopped her at 3:02 p.m. for a traffic violation in the 600 block of Wis. 69.

• Jacob J. Lenz, 23, Monticello, was cited for not wearing a seatbelt after police stopped him at 7:15 p.m. for an equipment violation on 6th Avenue.

• Police stopped a vehicle for littering and 7:50 p.m. and arrested the driver Tyler P. McCabe, 27, Monroe, for violating bond conditions. He was also charged with drug paraphernalia possession, a misdemeanor, and cited for littering and driving with a revoked license and no vehicle insurance. He was jailed. His signature bond was set at $500 Monday in Green County Circuit Court, with conditions that he not possess or consume any unprescribed controlled substances.

On Friday, Aug. 21:

• Police were dispatched at 9:20 a.m. to an active burglar alarm at a business in the village. It was a false alarm.

• Police received a complaint at 3:28 p.m. of a tree in the roadway in the 200 block of Kubly Road.

• Shannelle L. Sanchez, 32, Monroe, was cited for a window-tinting violation at 4:03 p.m. at Wis. 69 and Industrial Drive.

• Jose C. Ramirez, 20, Albany, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance after police stopped him for a registration violation at 5:01 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• Police received a complaint at 5:13 p.m. of a juvenile problem in the 100 block of 4th Street. The juvenile returned home under police direction.

• Alexander M. Schmidt, 18, Egerton, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance after police stopped him at 9:57 p.m. for an equipment violation on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• Lydia M. A. Lee, 18, Monticello, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance after police stopped her for speeding at 10:35 p.m. in the 500 block of Wis. 69.

On Saturday, Aug. 22:

• Ann M. Austin, 55, Prairie du Chien, for cited for speeding and driving without vehicle insurance at 5:12 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• Police assisted a citizen along the side of the road at 6:40 p.m. in the 500 block of Wis. 69. The man was having cellphone problems.

• An animal problem was reported at 7:15 p.m. in the 100 block of 6th Avenue. The problem occurred earlier in the day. Both parties involved were spoken to and proper action was taken regarding the matter.

• Elias S. Marion, 25, Blanchardville, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no vehicle insurance after police stopped him for an equipment violation at 8:43 p.m. in the 1300 block of 6th Avenue.

On Sunday, Aug. 23:

• Clint A. Wilson-Ragland, 32, Madison, was cited for speeding and driving with a revoked license at 2:19 a.m. on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• A visitor to New Glarus reported at 11:51 a.m. that he had lost his firearm. He later found the gun in his vehicle.

• Simone M. Petitjean, 45, Monroe, was cited for speeding at 9:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Wis. 69.

• Police conducted a requested welfare check at 9:30 p.m. on a resident on 1st Street. Everything was fine.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Andrew H. Dosio, 40, Juda, was arrested on a domestic abuse-related charge of disorderly conduct after deputies responded at 6:16 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, to a residence in the N1900 block of County S, Town of Jefferson. Dosio posted bond and was released.

• Zachary T. Wohlrab, 20, Freeport, was cited for speeding and driving without a valid license at 11:12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, in the N1100 block of Wisconsin 69, Town of Clarno.

• Julie K. Strong, 54, Brodhead, was arrested on a Department of Corrections probation warrant after deputies responded at 1:05 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, to a complaint of people causing a disturbance at the park in Brooklyn.

On Sunday, Aug. 23:

• A burglary involving the theft of several bottles of liquor was reported at 2:22 a.m. from Sir Buk's, W5222 County KK, Town of Monroe. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the sheriff's department at 328-9400 or Green County Crime Stoppers at 800-I-C-CRIME.

• Vandalism in a stone quarry in the W7500 block of Quarry Road, Town of Adams, was reported at 9:05 a.m. A pickup truck parked at the quarry a day earlier because of deer-crash damage was found with the driver's and passenger's side windows smashed out, the tail lamps smashed, blue paint spilled on the hood and interior, and items missing from inside the truck. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the sheriff's department or Crime Stoppers.
