MONROE - Amanda K. Meighan, 20, Monroe, was cited for retail theft at 3:21 p.m. Tuesday, July 31. She allegedly stole a clothing item worth $26 from Shopko, 405 W. 8th St.
- Police took a report at 9:22 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, that a 9-year-old Monroe boy and his younger sister stole two bicycles from the 500 block of West 21st Street. The bikes were later recovered the same day, and the incident was referred to Green County Human Services.
- Police took a report at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, that a 64-year-old man shoplifted from Dick's Piggly Wiggly, 725 8th St. Upon investigating the incident, police determined the man has a possible mental disorder and referred the incident to Green County Human Services. There were no arrests or citations.
- A resident in the 1500 block of 15th Avenue was issued a code violation notice at 10:34 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, to clean up excessive weeds and thistles in the yard within two weeks.
- A water floatation toy was found in a yard in the 900 block of 12th Street at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, and brought to the police station. To claim, call dispatch at (608) 329-2400.
- A bicycle theft was reported in the 800 block of 24th Street at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 31. There are no suspects.
- A group of preteens was warned for having a watermelon fight on the bike path bridge over the 1000 block of 9th Street, after police received a complaint at 10:06 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, that a car passing below was hit by a chunk of watermelon.

MONROE - Susan R. Helton, 23, South Wayne, was arrested on charges of criminal damage to property and criminal trespass to a dwelling after deputies responded at 6:34 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, to a report of breaking and entering on Center Street in South Wayne. She was released to a responsible party.
- A theft of coins was reported at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, on Faymont Road in the Town of Fayette.

DARLINGTON - Aaron A. Johnson, 34, Janesville, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated (first offense) after deputies responded at 7:26 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on County E north of Borchardt Road in the Town of Decatur. Johnson was also cited for driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration, operating left of center and driving without proof of vehicle insurance. He was released to a responsible party pending court. The vehicle was undamaged and towed.
