Paul M. Phillipson, age 87, of Argyle, WI, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Azura Memory Care in Monroe, WI. He was born July 30, 1927 in Argyle the son of Perry and Alma (Martin) Phillipson. Paul grew up in Argyle and graduated from Argyle High School in 1945. He joined the United States Navy in 1945 and was stationed in China as a Dental Corpsman. In 1948, he was honorably discharged. Following his return home he went into partnership with his brother-in-law at Phillipson Garage. Paul later owned and operated Phillipson Ford until his retirement in 2001. He was united in marriage to Marian Saalsaa on November 19, 1949 at Yellowstone Lutheran Church in rural Blanchardville, WI.

Paul is survived by his wife: Marian of Monroe; two sons: David (Christine) Phillipson and Rick (Virginia Rowell) Phillipson both of Argyle; three grandchildren: Tim Phillipson, Tricia (Chad) Zembroski, and Riley Phillipson; and four great-grandchildren: Emily and Garrett Phillipson and Alex and Zach Zembroski. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister: Irene Steiner. Paul was a member of Yellowstone Lutheran Church, its church council, and Argyle American Legion Post #251. He was a past member of Argyle-Adams Fire Department and Argyle Rod and Gun Club. Paul served on the Board of Directors at State Bank of Argyle/Amcore Bank and for the Argyle Community Development Corporation. He was also one of the original owners of the Norseman Supper Club in Argyle. Paul was an avid Brewers, Packers, and Badgers fan.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Yellowstone Lutheran Church, 4472 Saints Road in rural Blanchardville with Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman officiating. Burial will be in Yellowstone Cemetery in rural Blanchardville with military graveside rites to be accorded by Argyle American Legion Post #251. A visitation will be held Monday, November 17, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home, 801 East Milwaukee Street in Argyle.
