Paul E. Mosley, age 85, of rural Darlington, WI, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington. He was born March 9, 1927, on the family farm in Willow Springs Township, Lafayette County, WI, the son of Elmer and Helen (Albertson) Mosley. Paul graduated from Darlington High School. He lived and farmed in Willow Springs Township his entire life, until his retirement in 2006. Farming was a labor of love for Paul, but also had a passion for helping others out through his carpentry work.
Paul is survived by three children: Diane (Roger) Marty of Madison, WI, Steve (Denise Williams) Mosley of rural Darlington, and John Mosley of Madison; his close special friend and mother of his children: Colleen Mosley of Madison; four grandchildren: Joshua Johnson, Cole Stocks, Michelle Mosley, and Mikeal Mosley; one great-granddaughter: Brooklyn Mosley; one brother: Gordon (Ann) Mosley of Darlington; and his extended family the Jim Davis'. He was preceded in death by his father on April 5, 1987; his mother on June 2, 1989; twin daughters: Mary Jo and Marcia Jean Mosley on July 10, 1966; and one sister in infancy.
Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting with his friends over coffee downtown. He was musically inclined and played the accordion and harmonica for many years. Paul was an avid football fan who never missed a Super Bowl and always rooted for the Baltimore Colts in earlier years. He also enjoyed collecting Twin City, Minneapolis Moline antique tractors.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 339 East Louisa Street in Darlington with Rev. Dr. Connie Peake officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Friday, February 8, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home, 508 Main Street in Darlington.
