Orville E. "Obie" Eells, age 59 of South Wayne, died on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 8, 1952 in Monroe, the son of Leo J. and Thelma M. (Albright) Eells. He was a 1970 graduate of Black Hawk High School and a 1999 graduate of University of Wisconsin Platteville with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture. Orville and Shirley Rosenstiel were married on August 25, 1973 at St. John's United Church of Christ. Orville was the former owner of The Garden Path Greenhouse in Monticello, he also was a chef at the Chalet Landhaus in New Glarus and worked at Menards West in Madison. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Orville enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, playing cards and reading, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Surviving is his wife Shirley L. Eells of South Wayne; sons, Christopher R. (Andrea) Eells of Milton, Ryan J. (Kim) Eells of New Glarus, Nicholas M. (Amanda) Eells of Middleton; daughter, Katie L. Eells of Mount Horeb; grandchildren, Logan Eells, Cayden Eells, Caleb Eells; sisters, Opal (Norman) Huber of Monroe, Rose (Donald) Anderson of Monroe, Martha (Richard) Keegan of Brodhead; sister-in-law, Sharon Eells of Browntown, also several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; brother, Albert Eells; nephew, Rick Keegan; mother and father-in-law, Viola (Rufer) Rosenstiel and Glen G. Rosenstiel and brother-in-law, Tom Krueger.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ. Family burial will be at a later date. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home.
