Nellie Frieda Klossner Fuchs

Nellie Frieda Klossner Fuchs, age 93, of Monroe, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on February 19, 2015 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. Nellie was born on June 23, 1921 the daughter of John and Frieda Klossner and attended Exeter Schools. She was confirmed at Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello.

She was a nanny in Madison; she then worked for Dr. Olson in Monticello. Nellie also worked at the Ammon Turkey Farms and Oaktron Industries.

Nellie met the love of her life Edward C. Fuchs and they were united in marriage on December 25, 1941 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe.

They farmed together in the Winslow, Monticello and Monroe areas for many years. They retired from farming and moved to Monroe where they then started Fuchs Day Care for many years.

Nellie enjoyed embroidering, which she did every day even when she didn't feel good. She enjoyed dancing, her Cockatiel, Lady Bird and her special companion Shadow who sat by her side every day. She also enjoyed her flowers, especially her many Violets and watching birds on the feeders outside: her favorites being the Hummingbirds and Cardinals.

Nellie enjoyed her many visits with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She had been a Kidney Dialysis patient for 15 years.

She is survived by her daughters, Caryl (Herman) Plantikow of Monroe; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren; Sharon (Wayne) Prisk of Monroe, whom she lived with for the past 18 years; grandchildren: Duane (Sara) Segner, Deanna (Steve) Prisk, Donna (Jason) Borth, Sherri (Marc) Isely, 17 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Olga Colden, sister-in-law Wilma Klossner and many nieces and nephews.

Nellie is predeceased by her parents; husband, Edward, brother, Robert Klossner, infant brother, Ernest Klossner and brother-in-law, Ralph Colden.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Washington Reformation Church with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Monticello.

Visitation will be Monday, February 23rd from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is serving the family.

A memorial fund is being established in Nellie's memory.
