Nancy K. Edmunds, age 70 of Monroe, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Pleasant View Nursing Home following a long battle with lymphoma. Nancy was born on May 27, 1946 in Monroe, the daughter of the late Carl and Helen (Metcalf) Schlittler. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1964. Nancy worked in the cafeteria for the Monroe School District for over 30 years and she also cleaned homes and businesses for many clients throughout the years before retiring due to health issues. She was a faithful member of the Union Presbyterian Church where she had served as a Deacon and was active in the church choir. Nancy was known for her love of baking and took great pride in watching her grandchildren's many sporting events.

She is survived by her two children, Todd (Stephanie) Edmunds and Jayson Edmunds (Val Johnson), all of Monticello; and three grandchildren, Brent and Travis Edmunds and Payton Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at the Union Presbyterian Church, Monroe, with Rev. Jesse Larson officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be on Friday, March 24, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. A memorial fund will be established in Nancy's name for the Union Presbyterian Church. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net.
