Nancy Ann (Wolfley) Flick

Nancy Ann (Wolfley) Flick, age 76 of Monroe, passed away after a short but courageous battle with Cancer on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on March 12. 1936, adopted at 3 months by Thomas and Grace (Smith) Bliss; and later adopted by step-father, Clarence Wolfley in 1946. She graduated 8th grade from Simmons Country School. Nancy helped her Mom, Grace Wolfley on a 120 acre farm thru high school. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1954 and Green County Teachers College in 1956.

Nancy had a rewarding career as a teacher at the Bem Rural School for 5 years and Prien Rural School for 1 year. Had a fulfilling career working part time and full time for 16 years at St. Clare Hospital and became Assistant Patient Accounts Director; she then worked at the Monroe Clinic for 22 years as a Patient Accounts Representative. Nancy enjoyed reading mystery novels, taking tours to Canada, Alaska and several other states.

She enjoyed attending her Grandchildren's school and athletic activities. She enjoyed Birthdays and holidays with good neighbors, who are like family, Ernest, Helen and Susan Hiltbrand, as well as with her kids and grandkids.

Nancy is survived by her beloved children, Jeffery Edward Flick of Monroe, and Jennifer Lynn (Kevin) Hanson and grandchildren: Serena Jo Hanson and Miles Douglas-Clark Hanson of Sun Prairie, WI, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, aunt and uncle, nieces and nephews, and a sister-like special friend Shirley Althafer.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Shriner Hager Gohlke funeral home, Monroe, with Pastor Lowell Stuessy officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in Nancy's name to either the Green County Humane Society or the Monroe Public Library.
