Monroe woman pleads not guilty to burglary charge

MONROE - A Monroe woman pleaded not guilty to burglary and theft charges on Tuesday.

Vicki Carlson appeared in court with her attorney, Michael Murphy, and waived her right to a preliminary hearing.

A pre-trial conference is set for 8:30 a.m., July 5.

Carlson, 43, Monroe, was arrested for burglary, a class F felony, and theft, a class A misdemeanor, stemming from an April 22 incident. A signature bond was set for $2,500 in that case, with conditions including that Carlson may not possess or consume any controlled substances unless prescribed by a physician, have no contact with a residence in the 1700 block of 11th Street, and no unsupervised contact with her children.

In another case, Carlson was found guilty of possession of drug paraphernalia, following a raid on a residence by police on apartment in April.

The other suspect arrested in that case, Norman Jay Wells, 44, Monroe, will appear for an arraignment on June 6.

Wells is charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, a class F felony; possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, a class F felony; a second offense of possession of THC, a class I felony; maintaining a drug trafficking place, a class I felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor.
