Miriam G. Ault, age 91, of Monroe, died on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on December 23, 1925 in New Glarus, the daughter of Ivan and Gertrude (Wick) Zweifel. Miriam and John Ault were united in marriage on December 4, 1945 in Monroe.

Miriam was a telephone operator in Madison and Monroe for many years and she also worked at Pleasant View Nursing Home.

Miriam loved to dance and play the organ. She also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and watching the birds.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Kristen) Ault of Monroe, daughter, Susan (Marty) Betts of Merrillan, WI; 3 grandchildren: Joshua (Kristine) Signer, and David and Laura Ault; 2 great-grandchildren: Desirae and Clara Jo Signer; half-sisters, Junie (Ronald) Straham and Jill (Gene) Duerst both of New Glarus; and dear friends, Mary and Steve Meier.

She is predeceased by her parents, and husband, John.

Memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Randy Booth officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Miriam's name.
