Milford Wentz

Milford Wentz died of a heart attack while getting into his car to go home from his doctor's office just days away from his 75th birthday. He was born in Casenovia, Wisconsin, to Wilma and Leo Wentz. He grew up in the hill country surrounding Richland Center, Wisconsin, helping on the family farm and the family taxicab business. He graduated from Richland Center High School in 1953. He married his high school sweetheart Shirley Lewis on March 19, 1955. As a young man he worked driving milk truck and later drove truck for Gold Bond Ice Cream delivering in Wisconsin and Illinois. In 1962 Milford and Shirley puchased a taxicab company, City Taxi, in Monroe, Wisconsin. They ran the company there for the next 25 years. Moving to Salem, Oregon in 1987, he worked in the office at Lewis Distributing, later changed to Industrial Finishes, until his retirement in 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Wilma Wentz and by his youngest son Dennis Wentz. He is survived by his wife Shirley Wentz, his son Terry Wentz of Langley, Washington, Grandson Denny Zentner of Stoughton, Wisconsin and his brother Darlo Wentz of Richland Center, Wisconsin. He wished for no services to be held. His ashes will be interned at the family plot at Richland Center Cemetary in Richland Center, Wisconsin. Milford Wentz was a big man with a big heart. Always quick to make friends, his smile and friendly deameanor will be missed.
