11/14/1932 - 03/11/2015. Mildred Harriet Krauss Meythaler passed away, peacefully, in her bed, free of pain, with family and care staff present. For this, we her family are grateful. She was preceded in death by her parents Gottlob Krauss and Gladys Fair Krauss. Mill was born and raised in Monroe, Wisconsin, and spent most of her adult years in Waukesha, WI. She is survived by her sisters, Virginia of Berkeley, CA, and Kathryn of Hudson, WI, her husband Jerry Meythaler now of Denver, CO, her two sons Jonathan, of Washington, DC, and Jeffrey, of Denver, CO, and her grandchildren Jefferson and Jackson, children of Jeffrey and his wife, Olivia.

Mill, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a Master's Degree in Library Science, worked in the Wisconsin public school system for 25 years as a librarian and English teacher. She was a champion of the role and status of women in the Christian church during the 1950's when such philosophies weren't yet in vogue, writing articles for Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship's HIS magazine and authoring a chapter in Our Struggle to Serve (Word Books). An incisive intellectual throughout life, she was an ardent advocate for her children, an outspoken harbinger of gender equality, and an unwavering follower of Jesus. Although Mill cannot be replaced, her legacy remains. Now absent from the body, she is present with the Lord.

A funeral/memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 17th, 2015, at RiverGlen Christian Church, S31 W30601 Sunset Dr., Waukesha, WI, 53189. Visitation 10:00 a.m. Service 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
