Melvin C. Neeley, age 75, of Monticello, Wisconsin died on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on April 30, 1936, in Grant County, Wisconsin the son of Carl and Hattie E. (Walker) Neeley and attended Fennimore schools. Melvin married Sylvia Dentino on November 18, 1961 in Fennimore, WI.

Melvin was an Electrical Lineman working for contractors out of different Locals for 33 years and was an avid hunter, fisherman, loved to camp with his family & was a member of the Jehovah Witness.

Melvin entered the U.S. Army at Fort Sheridan, IL on June 9, 1953, served with the Signal Corps, and was honorably discharged on December 1957 at Fort Bliss, Texas.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Sylvia of Monticello; sons, Mark (Tina) Neeley of Nashville, Tennessee, Adam (Denise) Neeley of Verona, Andy (Alicia) Neeley of Evansville, & Eric (Julie) Neeley of Brodhead; daughters, Amy Neeley of Monroe, Carol (Gary) Campbell of Waunakee, Holly (Steve) McGaw of Durand, IL, Polly (Clayton) Tankersley of Proctor Arkansas, Penny (Damian) Dunlavey of Monroe, Dixie (Kirk) Hovland of Monroe, & Jill Neeley of Brodhead; sister, Marian Foley of McGregor, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents; sister, Betty Spears; brother, Billy Neeley; and brothers-in-law, Ray Spears & Bill Foley.

Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. Private burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 12:00 Noon on Saturday.
