Mary Lou (Davis) Nowatzki age 85 of Monroe, died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Monroe Manor. Mary was born June 3, 1929 in Spring Grove Township, the daughter of Guy and Bessie (Fehr) Davis. She attended Oakley Country School and graduated from Juda High School in 1946. She married Paul Nowatzki on August 21, 1951 at the Union Evangelical Church in Oakley. Mary Lou worked as a nurses aide at Pleasant View Nursing Home for 25 years and babysat in her home for many years. She was a member of Oakley Union United Methodist Church and the Monroe Moose Lodge. She was an avid Badger and Packer fan, and enjoyed gardening, fishing, trips to the casino, crafting, knitting, crocheting, and traveling to many places including Florida, Washington, Alaska, and Mexico. She loved spending time with her family and was a dedicated volunteer who delivered meals on wheels for many years.
Mary Lou is survived by three brothers, Clyde (Margaret) Davis, Delton (Joan) Davis, and Dale (Katie) Davis; a sister, Betty Borden; sisters-in-law, Ede Davis and Alberta Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on April 10, 1986; brothers, Harold, Burton, and Duane Davis; and sisters-in-law, Margaret Davis, Alberta Davis, and Ruth Davis.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. David Busker officiating. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, followed by a gathering at the Monroe Moose Lodge. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Mary's name to Meals on Wheels.
