PINE BLUFF/CROSS PLAINS - Marlene Kay Zander, age 59, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family, after a three year battle with cancer.

Marlene was born on March 13, 1950 to Roy and Ruth (Erickson) Ott at St. Claire Hospital in Monroe, WI. Mert graduated from Monroe High School in 1968 and Madison Business College in 1970.

Marlene was Vice President and Secretary Treasurer of Zander Insulation, Inc. for over 30 years.

Mert enjoyed golfing, caring for and enjoying her flower gardens, traveling and decorating her home. Most of all she enjoyed caring for and visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include: her husband, Bill Zander; her children, Corey (Todd) Cleary, Brookfield, Jerin (Chi) Zander, Middleton and Robin Zander, Cross Plains; two brothers, Larry (Luan) Ott, Monroe and Keith (Barb) Ott, Juda; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dick (Nina) Zander, Indiana, Ginny (Jim) Schaller, Stoughton, Ruth (Dick) Acker, Waunakee, Margie (Steve) Hoffmaster, Mt. Horeb, Nancy (Jeff) Bell, Black Earth, Beth Zemp, Madison, Jerome (Lynn) Zander, Mt. Horeb, Ron "Tiny" Zander, Mt. Horeb; four grandchildren, Kiera Cleary, Elissa Cleary and Cassie Cleary, Brookfield, and Ryan Zander, Middleton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ruth Ott, Monroe and three brothers-in-law, Arthur Zander, Larry Zander and Greg Zander, all of Mt. Horeb.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009 at St. Mary's Pine Bluff Catholic Church, with Father Rick Heilman and Father Tom Coyle officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's of Pine Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at St. Mary's Church in Pine Bluff. The Ellestad Camacho Funeral Home, 1710 Center Street, Black Earth, WI, is serving the family.
