Mark G. Baumeister, 42, of Indianapolis, formerly of Monroe, passed away April 6, 2008 in Indianapolis. He was born April 29, 1965.
Mark worked at Schaefer Technology as a pharmaceutical supply welder for more than 10 years.
Many people knew Mark as the guy that was always walking his dog, a Doberman Pincher named Lutz. Throughout his life, he walked 10 miles a day, each day, no matter what the weather. Something that many people didn't know was that he has been an avid supporter of the charities in our area by joining them in their yearly walks.
One of his many hobbies was karate in which he earned a black belt, along with many trophies through competitions. His favorite hobby was restoring old muscle cars and attending every available car show.
Throughout the last eight months, Mark had been fighting cancer and though he had much support, he lost his fight.
He is survived by his sister, Niome Baumeister; nephew, Kevin Baumeister; daughter, Kasey Davis; mother, Audie Narva; stepfather, Jeff Narva; father, Keith Baumeister; fiancée, Allison Robinson; several uncles, aunts, and cousins. Preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Joyce Patterson and LeRoy and Irma Baumeister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe. Father Michael Klarer will officiate with burial in Calvary Cemetery in Argyle.
A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, April 11, at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe.
Donations can be made in memory of Mark Baumeister to the Central Indiana Cancer Center, 6845 Rama Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46219, in care of Debbie, to raise money for a much needed blanket warmer.
