ORANGEVILLE - Marjorie May Barr, 87, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe, WI. She was born May 4, 1923 in Stephenson County. She was the daughter of Adam and Verla (Wagner) Zweifel. She graduated from Orangeville High School in 1941 and married Miles Barr on October 11, 1941. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1985.
Marjorie first worked for Micro Switch and then for Orangeville High School. She and her husband then owned and operated H.R. Zweifel Gift Shop in Orangeville. She was a member of the Orangeville United Methodist Church and a life member of the Orangeville American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by one son, Kermit (Susan) Barr of Orangeville, IL; three granddaughters, Teresa (Ron) Gahm of Freeport, IL, Denise (Frank) Peters of Baileyville, IL, and Tonya Barr of Orangeville, IL; seven great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, at the Cramer-Leamon Funeral Home in Orangeville. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. The Rev. Steve Barr will officiate. Burial will be in the Orangeville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
