FREEPORT - Marjorie Ann Ballard, 78, of Freeport, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Provena St. Joseph Nursing Center.

Born May 22, 1933 in Monroe, Wisconsin she was the daughter of Rodney and Mary (Haas) Wells.

Marjorie was a local waitress, sales clerk, and senior care specialist in the Freeport and Monroe area.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and VFW Auxiliary.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Reverend Marilyn (Terry) Nolan of Dixon and Linda (Michael) Martin of Wayne, Illinois; 1 sister, Leona Wells of Monroe, Wisconsin; 3 grandchildren, Sandi Nolan, Scott (Katie) Nolan both of Freeport, and Sarah (fiancé Craig McPherson) Nolan of Tullamarine, Australia; 1 great grandchild, Joshua Naujokas; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents; 2 brothers, Clifford and Herbert Wells; 1 sister, Dorothy Kortmann; and 1 grandson, Terry Nolan Jr.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday April 30, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Freeport, Illinois. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.

Visitation will be Monday 9:30 a.m. until time of service at Trinity United Methodist Church, Freeport, Illinois.

Memorials have been established for Trinity United Methodist Church, Freeport, Illinois and the Audubon Society.
