Marion V. Howe, age 89, of Darlington, WI, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington. She was born December 31, 1918 in Shullsburg, WI, the daughter of Thomas and Eula (Shaw) Carey. Marion graduated from Darlington High School in 1937. She was united in marriage to William Howe on June 12, 1937 at the Methodist Church in Galena, IL. She lived in Darlington most of her life. She worked as an assembler at Micro Switch in Warren, IL for 11 years. Marion worked another 11 years as an inspector at Borg Industries in Darlington before her retirement. She will also be remembered for tending bar for a number of years at the Uptown Bar and Wards Inn.

Marion is survived by her two sons: Jerry (Janet) Howe and Bill (SuzAnne) Howe both of Dodgeville, WI; three daughters: Barbara (Mike) Dinges of rural Argyle, WI, Connie (Frank) Erickson of Darlington, WI, and Donna (Arleigh) Bondele of Gratiot, WI; 12 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 22 step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: William on March 6, 1991; a step-great-granddaughter: Sadie Smith; and a son-in-law: Larry Hendrickson.

Marion was an avid football fan, she especially enjoyed watching the Redbirds, Badgers, and Green Bay Packers. Marion also enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband and friends. She continued to be active through out her life by bowling, golfing, shuffle board and many other activities.

A celebration of Marion's life will be held Sunday, September 14, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington with Rev. Larry Hakes of Darlington United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Saturday, September 13, 2008 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington.
