Marie I. Knobel age 95 of Madison, formerly of Monticello, died February 4, 2012 at Oak Park Place, Madison.
Marie was born February 9, 1916 in Argyle, WI, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Wahler) McQuillan. She graduated from Argyle High School and married Donald J. Knobel on Sept. 2, 1939 in Monticello.
Marie was a long time beautician in Monroe and Monticello and also worked at Schuetze's Clothing Store in Monroe for 20 years before retiring.
She was a former member of Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello.
Marie is survived by a son, Philip (Sharon) Knobel of Elkhorn, WI; a daughter, Kay Ann Knobel of Madison; four grandchildren, Tammie (Andy) Lynch, Cory Knobel, Kendra Schlittler, and Cameron (Angie) Knobel; nine greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Kammerude of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald, on Sept. 11, 2009; three brothers; one sister; and a greatgranddaughter.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery, Monticello. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be given in Marie's name to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc., American Heart Association, or V.I.P. Services of Elkhorn.
