Margaret "Elaine" Baltzer, 87, of Leawood, KS, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12 at Church of the Nativity, 3800 West 119th, Leawood, KS, followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, KS, 66102.
Elaine was born on January 2, 1922 in Monroe, WI. She began her career as a Medical Laboratory Technician working in the Monroe Clinic. After moving to Kansas City, she worked in the offices of Dr. William Algie and Dr. Wilson H. Miller.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Ganshert; brother, Paul Ganshert and her husband, Gilbert Baltzer.
She is survived by daughter, Betsy (Joe) Meunier; sons, Read Baltzer of Telluride, CO, and Paul (Betsy) Baltzer; brother, Dr. Joseph R. Ganshert of Monroe; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
