Mangrum found not guilty of sex assault

MONROE - A Rock City, Ill., man charged with two counts of sexual assault was found not guilty by a jury Friday in Green County Circuit Court.

Adam W. Mangrum, 30, was found not guilty of second-degree sexual assault of an unconscious person and second-degree sexual assault of a person under the influence of intoxicants, both class C felonies. He faced up to 80 years in prison and up to $200,000 in fines.

Mangrum was charged with having sexual intercourse with a woman who was unconscious and under the influence of intoxicants Dec. 16, 2006 in Brodhead.
